I have a 2014 Tacoma with 3" lift and 285/75/16 on stock rims. The only problem I have is when I am turning the wheel all the way, they will rub on the UCA but other then that its fine. What is a way to get rid of this problem besides wheel spacers or is it even worth correcting? Like I said the only time I have rubbing is when the wheel is turned all the way and it rubs the UCA.

Yes it's worth correcting. Wheel spacers come with their problems (can crack under repeated impact gun usage), but it's better than slowly cutting your tire sidewall.

Note you will probably need to trim away more of the fender flare plastic after installing the wheel spacers, because the tire is now swinging over a 3/4" wider arc.

sure you can get away from wheel spacers... go out and buy some badass wheels with more offset!

Yes I have stock UCAs. Will after market 16" wheels fit because the place I got the truck lifted told me that after market wont fit.

I doubt it. Depends on the uca design. Spacers or new rims are your answer. Any reason your avoiding spacers? When you use the correct hub - centric spacers, you wont even notice them!

The main reason I was trying to avoid spacers was because the extra wear on the ball joints and a lot of ppl have different opinions about them

So probably best to try and find some wheels that will fit with more offset and get after market UCAS?

FYI.... If you get wheels with a 3/4 of a difference in back spacing, its the same as a 3/4 in wheel spacer.

Also aftermarket UCA can help rubbing problems, and I doubt you have anywhere close to good alignment with stock UCA and 3 in of lift.

^Actually aftermarket UCA will typically make rubbing against the fender flare worse, since the upper ball joint is moved back (relative to stock UCA) to give caster.

OK, what no one else has mentioned in this thread is that some of the aftermarket upper control arms have a smaller shoulder profile than the stock upper control arms.

So you *may* be able to eliminate UCA rubbing only by replacing the UCAs.

Call up total chaos and ask them...

I'll call total chaos today I need after market UCAs anyway because my alignment isn't the best then go from there. I don't have any rubbing on the fender flares not even close to rubbing just the UCAs

actually flex the truck and stuff the tire and a 285/75R16 or same sized tired is gonna rub like a sumbitch.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I went with 16X8 rims and it took care of the problem and there is no rubbing issues anywhere even at full turn. I have 3 inch lift with 285/75/16 tires and 16X8 rims no rub issues at all and stock UCAs.

Can you provide the make and model of wheels you picked up? Also, what's your backspacing? I'm trying to get 285/75/16s on an 09 and having trouble finding a wheel that fits over the calipers. I'm looking at the SCS SR8s with 4.0 BS.

The wheels are 16x8 Raceline Raptor with a 4.5 backspacing. They work on my 2014 perfect and they are nothing to fancy and not to pricey either I'm very happy.
