Did my own mod today. constant 12v Marine Grade power socket bed of the truck:

you lifted at all?
alignment in check//wheel weights still there?

 

got a fabtech 6", wheels are in balance. shudder in low constant speed and now i got a "hum" like I got swampers on. (i have pro comp ats). i thought it was the alignment but the alignment guy told me the "hum" is coming from the wheel bearings and that 2nd gens are famous for wheel bearing probs. so i'm confused is it the wheel bearings or the trans that causing the shudder and or the humming. Humming is constant unless i turn right. shudder is brief and happens at low constant speed usually around 2nd-3rd gear.

 

what size tires?

could be the carrier bearing...6" lift would change the driveshaft angles a bit and may cause the humming

 

there's tons of things that could cause vibes, kinda gotta go through a process of elimination for them

like luka said, could be your CB, how lifted are you in the rear? matched?


for the wheel bearings, jack the truck up and check for a grinding sound when you rotate it or just overall looseness in the wheel

you can also take the hub off and check the bearings directly

 

Yes ^^this. It can't be the trans since your mileage is still low for service but I would check levels anyway. There's a overfill plug that you can check. You can also see if it's your wheel bearings if the humming is present while turning. If the humming gets louder it most likely can be the wheel bearings. like Kona said, process of elimination.

 

got the new tires and wheels installed yesterday...
