Yeah. A few years ago we got just a little over 2 feet and it was pretty awesome. I had to go to work that morning and I just got my Tacoma that November. I had a blast. I was late to work. :D but had a good excuse. Plus I picked up a coworker too. There was pretty much no one on the road. I had way too much fun going to work that day.

Oh and my brother-in-law just texted. They added a 2nd night stay for him. LOL. Lucky bastard.

Also, I've never experienced thunder snow. I've always wanted to of course.

We got that in Kodiak somewhere between 1998/1999. I remember driving to work at 5:30 and there was already 18" on the road. I was in an '81 K5 blazer and tried to turn down the road to work and my Blazer got sideways and slid for 100 feet or so. Managed to get back on the road and to work, ended up getting in and plowing the road to the main road. You know, junior guys gotta do the shitty job so the radios were manned for the crab fleet.

Jealous as hell you get to be out skiing. No time while i'm at school. Luckily my hometown resort is having like a record breaking shitty year of snowfall, not even 250" yet so that makes it a bit easier to handle haha

I'm guessing about six inches here so far and still falling like crazy. Couldn't see 20 feet in front of my hood on the way in this morning, there was so much snow in the air. Blowing like crazy, too. I dropped the plow blade and swept the parking lot when I got to work today, and it's dropped another three inches since then (roughly 90 minutes ago).

Which was also predicted. A lot of people don't understand how we handle the snow predictions. It's not "total" accumulation, it's base+7"-11". It gets really confusing when the 7"-11" compacts as it accumulates. We use a white colored board and clean it off every hour. At the end of the hour a measurement is taken. It's a tough thing to predict, and if you ever want to start a good argument with a meteorologist bring it up. It's almost as good as arguing over the difference between partly sunny or partly cloudy. ;)

Totals update using the Doppler Weather Window here at the office:
Probably about 10-12 inches or so.

And here we are at 12:30, an hour later, once it really started drifting in good shape.

    thunder snow is kinda cool.

I got to experience it up near buffalo. I think it was last winter or maybe the winter before.

I've experienced it once, like three or four years ago. Big, fat perfectly round snow pellets, crazy thick clouds and lots of loud thunder. It was awesome. That snow packed very well for snowballs.

Mostly drifting, but yes, very quick. Probably 1-2 inches an hour right now.
That second shot was after they plowed the driveway; the heater bank from them plowing and the old bank in back from previous storms acted like a bowl and a crap ton of snow drifted in between both banks (where the vehicles were parked). When I went out to start my truck to leave the snow was almost crotch deep, and I had to yank that Honda out with a strap.
