Well, I'm pretty happy. Got about a foot of snow last night. Drove through it dragging the drive train, without chains. Stopped to chat with the neighbor with the tractor, and got going again with minimum fuss. Twelve miles on the lightly sanded snowpack in H4, all the way to the interstate. 2014 V6 Manual AC 4x4, bone stock, including crappy factory street tires. :headbang:

:rofl:When it's that deep, you don't need brakes to stop. So I didn't risk horrific ABS death roll.

    enough to go over stuff
My truck does well in the snow. Ice and ABS is another story. I have the damage to prove it... :)

Im using the stock Bf's and they have been working fine. I have also been over a lot of ice and I have never had an issue with abs. Did I get a miracle truck or something?

After a recent rainstorm here and subsequent icing, i finally found out about the ABS. It is extremely slow, letting go of the brakes for extended periods of time while your sliding away. all other cars ive had give a constant pulsing.

I hear ya man. I live in your area as well. The ice was terrible, it claimed a mans life in Richmond on sunday.

Not far from where I took the pic in the OP, there is a steep hill that sometimes gets quite slick. After reading ABS horror stories here, I decided to test mine.

One slippery day, I headed down that hill at about 10-15mph and hit the brakes. It took a few yards to stop, but stop I did, on the slope. Truck stayed nice and straight and upright throughout. Pulsing was quite steady. You really have to mash the pedal, though. The harder you press, the better it works. I've repeated the trial several times in different places under various conditions, and never had a problem. In fact, this morning I had to stop going down the same slope (which had been plowed) because another vehicle was coming up. ABS didn't even engage on the dry fresh snow.

    :notsure:

^^ Yep with the right shovel it takes less than 5 minutes, even when you're hammered (this was on a lake, relax)
