Bow advice?

After I'm done with my truck I was going to save up for a bow. I was wondering where I could get a decent one for under 550 bucks. Any advice please?

 

do as i did and start out cheap..........check out a few pawn shops and get a decent one from there. hell.....i've been shootin a bow for over 3 years now....and im still using the pse nova that i got from a pawn shop. of course,i did some upgrades to it(sight,quiver,rest..etc), but it works excellent. dont start out with an expensiove bow, cause....1,you dont wanna tear up a new expensive bow, and 2,if you happen to not be into it as much as you think you'll be.....you wont be out too much cash. just my .02.

 

That's what I was planning to do, 550 was going to be my max. But Ill go to a pawn shop and look around, how old do you have to be to purchase a bow? For I am only 16

 

no age limit on bows that i have ever heard of....there are 7 and 8 year olds shootin bows, so i highly doubt there is an age limit.

ive had my diamond made by bowtech for over 3yrs.

it shoots awesome and there reasonably priced brand new i paid about 550 ready to shoot.

over time i upgraded sights rest ect.....

 

Bow Tech is a local company for me, and is highly respected here... My dad's had 2 and loves them! Definately good quality and advanced technology!

If you have a Bass Pro or some place like that nearby they usually have bows that they will let you try out at the store. I would shoot all the ones in your price range and then decide. I would not buy a used bow unless you know the person. You can't go wrong with Diamond or Bowtech.

 

if you could wait until january or february you can get almost any bow for that much money used on ebay. go with a mathews, bowtech or hoyt. they are the 3 most popular. i would try and get one with everyting on it, sight, rest, etc. the extra things are what run up the price. i would go ahead and get a good one, that way you will have a great bow the first time. you won't have to upgrade. i shoot a mathews dxt and love it. it is the 4th bow i have had. the third mathews. i won't get another.
it is everything you could ask for in a hunting bow, short, thin, light, and fast.
