Ok, so I have my new 2010 DC TRD that I love. but as life would have it we also own a 2008 Jeep Liberty that is loaded to the hilt and we have grown "accustomed" to the great sound system and navigation system that is installed... (Infinity Sound system)

I want to go simple, no components knowing that I am not an audiophile so "top end" sound is not my goal...just good/great sound some decent speakers and a decent head unit.

So having said that... I want to do the system in two stages

So what would be your recommendations keeping it as cost effective as possible but decent sound.

    • 1st stage - Speakers (front doors and rear doors)

I will get a head unit installed later

    • 2nd Stage - Head Unit -
    Requirements for head unit

Satellite ready/capable ( I have XM in the Jeep)
    Single CD

So I am looking for the most cost effective means but have decent sound, not cheap but not ultra high end..

    Thanks much

I put Pioneer TS-A6993R 6X9's in the front & TS-A643P 6 1/2's in the back of my 2009 Double Cab. They sounded much better than stock with the stock radio, but sound awesome with my new JVC KW-XG700 Head Unit. The stock speakers are completely plastic with a magnet the size of a quarter!

    I second fly fisher^^^

Also keep in mind that if you are going to spend a lot of money on speakers, spend a lot on the front ones. The rear speakers are mostly there for fill.

will I need adapters for these to fit in my truck doors (front and back) or are they direct replacement?

No, if I stick with the 6.5 2-ways posted above on the ebay link will I need adapters, I think I would rather stick with the 6.5 all the way around..

Yes you will need adapters no matter what speaker you choose. Once you pull the original there will be a big hole there. Yes, I would cut the power to the factory tweets as well. They will be too harsh with the speakers I linked.

I am going to assume because the factory speaker has the bracket built into it's construction (the speaker itself correct?)

Mr. Marv is better than ********* but expect to wait. I've been waiting 3 months for a set of baffles and a custom access cab box. I know he has been through a lot in the past few months but just wanted to let you know. I've read negative things about ********* but I hear good things too. If your just ordering baffles and taco has them in stock (make sure before you order) then I would order from them. If you don't mind waiting (he might already have some sets made) then Mr. Marv.

Thanks for the input, the other road I thought of is if someone wants to sell their JBL system, I just like the factory look..

Too many horror stories dealing with *********. I have personally dealt with Marv and the service and product is very good. My recommendation, deal with Marv.

Yeah the factory look is nice but I bet the sound from the pioneers above (or any aftermarket really) will be better than even the JBL system.
