Trying to decide on wheels and tires. Thinkin about getting 17x8.5 Fuel Trophys with -6 offset with 285/70/17s. Don't know if that's the stance I'm gonna want. How far you think they will stick out? Or should I just try the 15x8 MT Sidebiters with 33x12.50?

Trying to replace my fan clutch and the 4 nuts that hold it to the pulley won't budge. I just spin the whole engine when I try to pull on them. I tried to carefully spray only the nuts with PB blaster but it ended up getting on the belt some as well so now it really spins when I try to loosen the nuts. How can I get these damn things off?

not sure if a 15 inch rim would be a good option as your truck was designed for 16 as the smallest to clear the brakes and such.

The clutch allows the fan to sprin freely.

    try a pulley wrench.

Also, use leverage to your advantage. wrench on the nut closest to the 9 o'clock position relative to the direction your pulling the wrench.

Negative ghost rider. He can fit 15's just fine unless he's one of the very few first gens with traction control

I run 16s on mine and will most likely go to 17s soon, Haven't found a set I like yet and not sure if the SCS ones will be enough backspacing.

The extra height when aired down is my main reason and the second reason is I am looking to swap my front brakes with a tundra for a big brake kit, there is no way a 15 inch rim would even mount once I do that.

But hey if you like the 1980s look of a small rim and huge sidewall, Go for it.:D

    God you're ignorant. It's not a 1980's look. It's function over form.
The more sidewall you have, the better the tire behaves offroad. Sidewall flex is your friend. Same reason you're not running around with 22" wheels and rubberbands for tires.

    to each their own then.

call people names all you like however it may be a more practical offroad set up if thats all hes going to use it for, Which I seriously doubt.

but yeah bigger than 15 inch rims is sooooo bad offroad seeing as thats what you run too right?

And clearly I missed where I said it was impractical.. maybe you can quote that for me too.

I never said it was "so bad" for offroading. My comment was in reference to your "80's look" on a 15" wheel.

As for the word I chose...shoe fits

    ig·no·rant
    /ˈiɡnərənt/
    adjective

lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular.

wow man you're really reaching today.. normally i dont mind your snappy zingers but today you are just looking for anything to bite at.

Again where did it say it was a bad look or impractical.

You clearly missed my legit reasons for not running a 15 inch rim and large tire.

But hey, ripping on people is your thing and I get it... you clearly read what I said as ignorant... HA!

You really think a 16" vs 17" bigger wheel is going to make your truck higher when aired down?

P.S. SCS 16" wheels fit fine with Tundra brakes.
