I've seen commercials for their firehouse pants in NC.

 

How much is the house worth totally redone, and how much will it cost to totally redo?

 

It looked like maybe just blocks but the snow kind of covered it. It's from 1930 and there's no basement around most of the house.

 

Totally redone probably $140k. But it needs foundation work and a roof right away, then flooring and paint, the kitchen remodel needs finished, and some other finishes. The bathrooms have been redone. The electrical is up to date, pvc plumbing, central hvac, water softener, RO system, and the garage is insulated and heated. All bonuses in my book. I could either see myself flipping it or renting it out after I pay it off and fix it up in like 2 years.

 

I would see what you can get it for just for the land. Knock it down and rebuild a new place for a reasonable budget with modern amenities. After the rework on the foundation, floors, cabinets, and other things in a 1930's house. You are going to be in a never ending money pit.

You said you could get it for 25k? I would get the land for that. and then get a larger loan from the bank to demo the place.

 

Seems like a lot of hard work and financial risk without quick return. I'd not fuck with a house that badly in disrepair, but that's just me. I'd hate to buy into it only to find out the hard way that bulldozing and.building fresh would've been faster and cheaper than trying to right all the wrongs.

I can't afford or qualify for a new house. I'm a first time home buyer. I want a fixer upper and can do a majority of the work, but don't want to go broke over it. The land wouldn't be desirable to me. There's land closer to my work for $10,000. But I can't afford the house to put on that land. I am entertaining the idea of building a garage with an apartment loft on cheap land though. They can be built fairly cheaply.

 

Fixer upper is fine , buying a total money pit is a different story

 

He actually has some construction skill , you know , actual man stuff

 

I have 5 bathrooms. That's the equivalent of a 3rd gen.
So me no poor neither
