hello, i bought my '02 tacoma during the recall back in 2011. i thought the recall didn't include this truck so i didn't worry, especially since toyota didn't notify me of the recall. the truck pass all inspections until the other day. now toyota says they aren't going to do anything about it. has anyone else had to deal with this? what should i do? thanks for your advice.

On the first gen trucks....it wasn't a 'recall'.

It was an extended warranty 'service campaign' - and it has since expired.

You're a year or two too late.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
On the 01-04 models, it is supposed to cover the truck for exactly 15 years after it was manufactured, unlimited mileage. OP should still be good until 2015 is over if my math serves me correct.
