Good choice on the seat and socket. Before you changed your clutch did your fan spin all the time? Mine spins even when the truck is running cool, it doesn't always spin as fast as when it is hot... but it always spins. Maybe I need a fan clutch and don't know about it.

Mine always spun. Its supposed to spin more as the motor gets hotter. My old one was apparently spinning like the motor was hot at all times. When I drove and got to 2K rpms it sounded like a bus. I always thought this was normal. But my god its quiet now and I love it. It still spins just more freely then it did before. It sounds like I'm driving a whole different truck. I can hear more exhaust and supercharger yet its still quieter than before when revving.

I also had a high rpm belt squeal thats gone now. I think the old fan/clutch couldn't keep up since it was stuck and the belt started to slip on the pulley.

Got the 35's on today. Like others have said. It was a lot of work to get them to fit and you're probably just fine with 33's.....But I sure wasn't thinking about going back to my 33's when they pulled it out of the bay...lol

:jellydance: I'm kind of wishing I held off on putting the twin stick in last summer....Triple setup would have been sweeeeeeet!

I know 17's are the new 15's but why is everyone going with 17's these days? I like the extra tire to air down and act like a shock when crawling over rocks.

I'll be going with 15 inch DIY beadlocks down the road...

My guess is brakes are getting bigger so auto manufacturers are going with bigger wheels to fit them.

Aftermarket wheel companies make products for the widest customer base, and 15 year old trucks aint it.

Idk, I guess more people like the look of a bigger wheel and the tire manufacturers are noticing. I agree with the extra sidewall but the other thing you have to think about is that with a much bigger tire even on a 17 you still have plenty of sidewall to absorb bumps and conform to rocks. I should be taking mine on a shakedown run Feb 21-22 so I'll see how my setup does at about 7lbs or so.

Very nice man, you're going to love the gearing options. On a different note, can you post a pic of your crossmember? I'm not sure what mine is.

I see your point; if you have beastly meats who cares about a 2 inch rim difference. But I'm not sure I would consider 33-35 big enough to not care about it.

15's are also cheaper....If you're wheeling your Taco I don't want to spend more money I have to on wheels that I'm just going rock rash the crap out of anyway...

If you're really wheeling you will rash your 15's too. I did on my 82 on 37's and 15's. The tacoma has a lot more tire though.. 39.5's and I assure you I will rash the hell out of them too. Part of wheeling

Yeah, I thought about going to 16's with e rated as well but in the end didn't feel like spending the coin new wheels. Good to know the e rated weren't too stiff for you.

Wasn't trying to make any generalizations. Just wondering if there is a real underlying factor in why the market is moving more to 17's over 15's.

So, I painted my faded bumper filler on my day off. I was planning to paint it red, with the dupli color pearl, like my grill. But I actually just put it on with the primer black. I think I like it better than the color matched. What do you guys think?
