Last week I purchased one from 2kracing.

Date Ordered: Tuesday 13 May, 2008

    Products
    ------------------------------------------------------
1 x Toyota Tacoma OE High Performance Replacement Filters(AFE:
    31-10114) $44.25
    Product Ordered:

    ------------------------------------------------------
    Sub-Total: $44.25

    CA TAX 8.25%: $3.65

    United Parcel Service (Ground): $8.11

    Total: $56.01

They called me up today saying their cost went up and cannot sell it at that price. The manager sold it to me supposedly at their cost of $50.00. I took the $50 knowing other sites could not beat that price. Should be receiving it in a few days. They are also giving me an internet coupon for my next order. Good luck guys.

    That's a bunch of BS.....
They're advertising it for $44.25 and they have enough nerve to call you and tell you it's more expensive than that? WTF?? And they still haven't updated their prices on the website.
    http://www.2kracing.com/Product/6599.html
Did you already complete the transaction w/ online payment? And they wanted more?

Thats ashamed that the price has risen so much. I can still buy the K&N for my car at 60 bucks back home, same price since 2001.

I'm sure they increased the price because everybody is looking for better mpg these days. You know, if fuzzy dice increased fuel economy the price of those would be $50!

    Price increase is understandable.....

What's totally irresponsible - is a company whom can't get their website updated with the new pricing. Instead of calling the customer and requesting more money - they should EAT their losses until they get their asses together and fix the website.

    :D

And seriously..... If *ellocodetroit* paid them IN-FULL of what the website advertised and they call requesting more money - obviously, they're not gonna ship the product until you give them more money.

You could probably make a file/case with the BBB. The BBB is very good at investigating and pushing for consumer rights. I'm almost certain the BBB would WIN.

I've used BBB in the past for a company who 'lost' my records of purchase and wouldn't send me my product. They're very good.

It's hard to believe those things cost them $20. They are, of course taking advantage of supply and demand. They have a good product, so why not?...but there's no excuse for not standing their advertised price.

I do question their customer service. I bought an AFE CAI, it didn't fit and I had to do big time cutting, grinding and drilling to make it work, I emailed them about it and didn't even receive the courtesy of a reply.

Are you talking about 2KRacing or AFE?

I've always gotten a reply, to a question anyway, from AFE.

    Gentlemen & Ladies,

I've been in contact with two people from AFE who are working on setting up the group buy, so this is definitely going to happen. They made an offer of price already, but I sent them back to try and get a better price if we can get over 100 units. (TacomaWorld & ToyotaNation combined) It looks like it will more than likely be just the 2.7 and 4.0 liter drop-in AFE Pro Dry S. If there is a big push for the CAI, we might (big might) be able to get that.

I should have pricing information at the very latest by Monday.

For those that are interested, yet haven't signed up yet, please just make a post in the thread.
