True, Im no fanboy though. If you read my posts I go after the Taco all the time. I owned an 06 DCSB and it was just meh. I call it like I see it. And long term reliability for Heeps is garbage, just pick up a Consumer Reports mag.

There are hardcore fanboys out there that even til this day defend the Ford 6.0L powerjoke diesel. Fanboyism at it's finest.

My next truck will be one that has the best reliability ratings and more than likely the highest rated truck will be a Toyota.

In my opinion Jeeps are underpowered, perhaps if they bump up the HP I would look that way but for now I'm all Toyota.

Fuel mileage is not the best but better than my taco loaded.

As much as I loved the looks of the Jeep Scrambler that my brother had in the day, that truck drove like garbage. It wandered all over the road due to the taller than stock tires that it had. I personally think a dual cab Jeep truck like shown above would look absolutely killer, I still wouldn't buy one. Jeep's quality has been garbage for a long time.

Pretty much. The torque curve is surprisingly flat, and starts around 1500 rpm. Jumps off the line really good, and I am averaging about 1 mpg more than my Taco did. Granted, I don't tow anymore, and the Jeep cant haul anywhere close to the Tacoma.

The key here is the 2012 with the Pentastar engine. I had an 07 4 door wrangler and it was a dog... but people don't buy wranglers to go fast.

I had 2 Grand Cherokees and the Wrangler and I can definitely agree that my Tacoma is way more reliable but sometimes reliability isn't the first thing on people list... they take the bad with the good. Sometimes I really miss my Jeeps, so I could see myself going back one day

I think Jeeps look awesome. If there was a pick-up truck version I would definately go look at it and test drive it - Just because I like trucks and would like to know more about it. Based on past experience I would not buy it though.

My company has a fleet of vehicles, which used to include Jeep Cherokees and Grand Cherokees. They all fell apart at around 80,000 miles; most of those miles just engineers driving to meetings, with just the occasional off-road on construction sites.
Due to the high maintenance cost we switched to Ford products. We have F-150s and Explorers. A little better reliability but nothing close to Toyota. The Toyotas in the fleet have hardly any maintenance cost other than typical oil changes, tires, wiper blades... So, my opinion is not just based on one bad vehicle that I had, but fleet experience.

So, yes, I will be looking at Jeep trucks, but I would not be buying one. If the company decides to buy them and they foot the repair bills, I will surely drive them and not be ashamed to be seen in one, because they are good looking for sure.

Yep that is why I never looked at the jeep much after the older ones and scramblers were dropped.

Take the 4door and add a 6' bed and I would show up fast to try it out.

Love Jeeps, the history, looks, concept vehicles... owned one once... never again. No quality, no strong parts, unreliable, always needing repairs, adjustments...

The last good Jeep was made in 1969, when it was Kaiser-Jeep Corporation (Kaiser bought Willys-Overland in 1953, changed the name to Willys Motors, and changed it to Kaiser-Jeep Corp. in or around 1962.

When they were bought by American Motors in 1970, things changed. Of course all American car manufacturers began having quality issues in the 70's.

    Here's my 1975 Jeep Cherokee Chief, 401 V-8, Automatic with Quadra-Trac full time 4WD...
