Severe Weather thread.

Except for not being able to see a couple times because of whiteouts on my way home it was fun. Not often I've dropped the plow on a public way, but there were a few spots where I did because they obviously hadn't been touched yet today.

 

'Official' totals from the local news station say that we got 27 inches in my neighborhood. But it varied in my driveway from 1 foot to 4 feet because of drifting. Plowing was a challenge; if it had been wet and heavy snow it would have been nearly impossible. As it was, I was able to push the heater bank out of the way in one sweep, but it required some momentum.

Awesome indeed. Roosted some gravel and a little snow too today. T shirt weather snowmobiling is awesome. Normally the snow is chest deep this time of year.

 

Where I live is absolutely hilarious. You might get snow in January you might not and you might get snow in febuary but you might not. March, same deal. It sucks. If you dont like the weather where I live, it will change in 5 minutes to something you might or might not like.

I'm going to have to get some pictures this weekend for you guys; some of my snowpiles are reaching epic proportions, and I haven't even stacked them with the tractor yet.

 

There were about 10-15 cars spun out in the median on my way into work this morning because of the ice.

 

Just started raining here. Doesn't look like it's icing up. Yet anyway.

 

Snow > Rain any day between the months of October and May.

Here in Pittsburgh, it's going to be mass chaos, due to the rain/ice, on the afternoon commute home....

Hopefully it will be warm enough by that time. I gotta pick up my son from school around that time. F ice.

 

It doesn't matter...everyone and their mother are already biting nails, looking out windows, complaining to one another, calling their kids to be safe driving...

...their minds are made up that roads conditions WILL and ARE indeed icy
