You're not far off. The 10lb pull makes it hard to be accurate for sure. Plus some guns (s&w m&p) have a ridiculously long trigger pull as it is, throw the 10lb into the mix and it turns a decent entry level handgun into a paper weight

I imagine it's really a pain the ass with the subcompacts like the LC9's or the Bodyguard.

I don't think you will notice the trigger pull if you have to use it. They aren't meant to be target guns

No, but I bet that it makes practicing a lot less pleasant. And if my accuracy was suffering as a result of a heavy trigger pull I'd be hesitant to carry it for when my life depended on hitting what I aimed at.
Which might be the point, because Massachusetts.

Yeah that's why I'm leaning towards the SD9 because I can get the 5lb trigger spring kit for it for $20. Shooting my mom's LCR is next to impossible to get on target.

Yep the LCR you can barely hit a target at 50'

I shot one in Arizona and I was a fan. I like the double safety too. Too bad they don't make any that have 10+1 mags for us massholes

    :angrygirl:

True, but he has a point \/ \/

Practicing with a 10lb trigger sucks

Maybe not, but I did have to use it I'd rather have a nice smooth trigger pull cause I would likely be jumpy already. Don't need a.dumpy trigger pull adding to the situation.

I smoothed and shortened mine but it is still heavy. I am ok with it cause it is meant to be a belly/pocket gun

Not a fan of carrying in my pocket personally. Have a friend with a little .25 auto who does it every day. Would make me nervous

I've got a DeSantis Nemesis that I use for pocket carrying my Bodyguard 380. As long as the gun's got a manual safety and a holster that covers the trigger I'm comfortable with it.

Problem is all the compacts don't have safeties except the XD's basically, and the XD isn't mass compliant

I generally go IWB during the winter, when I'm carrying something larger like my Shield, 5906, or G19.

During the summer I pocket carry because it means I'm not sweating against a holster. Plus I'm more comfortable carrying a .380 when people are wearing cotton t-shirts instead of heavy winter jackets and sweaters.

Is the Shield MA compliant? That has a manual safety.
It's a bit bulky for a pocket carry, though.

Handgun compliancy is only a dealers issue. AWB compliancy is the only bit you need to deal with (10 round mags or pre bans)

The shield is compliant, but the S&W triggers are atrocious IMWO. Even with a trigger job they are crap to me.

What are you keeping 'lubed' when in 4wd vs. 2wd though? Everything moves regardless, it's just a matter of what is getting power. The only thing that really moves is the actuator which are prone to failing at random times anyways.

Not trying to brag about not using 4wd, I use it whenever I need it. I prefer to wait until I need it because while it helps you accelerate, it does nothing to improve stopping distance and is useless on ice. For me, all it does is let me potentially get going faster when I shouldn't be so I avoid it until I need it.
