you know when you promise your wife your just gonna drink "one" beer?..so you reach for that gigantic can of FOSTERS..or a 40oz..

it's like that. i have knives everywhere. we are on an ANTI-hoarder movement at my home. i find one knife and will ditch a bunch of them.

one..okay..maybe five..max..oh..six. Mora's are so cheap, they dont count. i am driving my wife insane with my obsession with things. archery..got my bows down to one..rifles..two.

shotguns..i have a problem, but garage sale time..maybe. cars? yah.

    ;)

With scandivex, all you'll need is a good quality leather strop and some compound. Stropman is a good one, I have one from another maker but I can't remember the maker. I think it's in my center console. :anonymous:

I haven't taken a stone to my convex blades in years. Just stropping. If you use yours for skinning, just take a few more breaks than you normally would and strop before the edge gets too dull, it will make it a razor in short order and you can keep going. A stropped edge is a maintained edge!

For scandi, I avoid the strop as mine is too soft of leather and rounds the cutting edge and dulls it. I use a stone on the flat bevels.

When's the sharpening class at that place you were talking about before? I checked their site, pretty awesome.

dunno..i havent signed up yet. soon.

but Spring turkey season is about to come up..hahhaha..my poor wife. damn lucky i figured out how to make a turkey breast "tonkatsu" that she loves.

you are the second person to tell me to only use a strop. what compound oo you like? i do use an old belt. i stand on one end, pull the other up tight and strop away. i use it as my last move..and usually as my only move. my Benchmades have never been sharper. i dont use a compound, but it seems to still work some. enough.

I love collecting knives, but love to get use out of them even more. I'll never spend more than $100 on a knife, because you just don't have to! Anyway heres what I got, most are gifts the rest gifts from myself:)

Beav I think yours pre-date the bad edge grinds. I'd think yours are also more hand finished than the normal production blades, too, but I could be totally wrong.

I just remembered my strop is from Flexx Strops. Stropman makes a good one also, both can come preloaded with compound, my Flexx still wears it's original green and black.

I had a Pframe a long time ago, it was great. No shame! Half my EDC folders are Walmart Gerber's or Kershaw's.
