Really? I love the trigger on my Shield. One of the best DA triggers I've used. I might even like it more than the DA trigger on my 5906 (and that's saying something)

Edit- Maybe boosting it to a 10-lb pull ruined the trigger? I haven't tried a Masshole compliant one. But the one that I've got is light, smooth, and crisp.

I shot a factory shield (Ma compliant) and it was one of the worst triggers I had ever felt. Felt like the freaking safety was on. Long, heavy, gritty. A friend had an M&P a while back with a trigger job done on it. It was far better, but still pretty bad.

Weird. It has to have something to do with that MA conversion, because everybody who's shot my Shield has commented (unprompted) about what a nice trigger it has. it's the factory trigger; I haven't altered it. :notsure:

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Your transfer case runs straight through when you're not using 4wd so by switching it in you are running the secondary gears to propel the front. By doing so it causes the chain to go through the oil and lube up, it also heats up the case to get rid of the condensation that can get built up. Also it moves the front drive shaft so the U joints in it are being used and causes them to move in there grease as well not to mention using the motor to keep that moving as well. While not a lot it is something. I also like to use it because it does have an effect in the way I drive. I have less of a chance of the back end slipping out and it helps with engine braking as well. So to me there are a lot advantages.
I was never saying this to cause an argument. :) I was just saying it because I can't understand why so many people have it but seem to try there hardest not to use it. I myself would rather have control all the time rather that get in trouble and then decide to use it afterwards (sometimes after ending up in a ditch). I have seen that 1st hand. Jeep ending up in a ditch right in front of me. A 4WD but he was in 2WD.
To me if I can use 4wd (like when snow is on the street) then I use it. For me it's like having a locker and not using it until you get stuck. I don't drive (or wheel) to get stuck.

I generally use 4wd when there's snow on the ground unless it's just a coating. My truck is so light even with sandbags in the back it inspires much more confidence

    New truck. Mods to come!
Do you ever notice an actual difference with sandbags? I used to do it when I lived in Utah but never noticed enough of a difference to really make anything of it. :notsure: The only time I ever noticed a huge difference is when I had my bed loaded with 500lbs in tools. haha

I've been in AWD for the last week. Keeping everything well lubricated, including my fender wells and running gear from my CV grease spewing everywhere

I will typically throw it in 4wd when I am at a light just so I can leave with out slipping and sliding thru the intersection. I also like to exercise everything once in awhile figuring it will help with the lubrication.

At my work our delivery trucks are 2wd Taco's and my drivers are like a hundred so they bitched and bitched till I put 250lb's of sand bags in each truck.. I rarely drive the trucks but I took one out yesterday and couldn't tell a difference with the weight in the bed...

I have my spare 35/12.5/15 rim and tire in my bed plus 2 sandbags . I like having the weight back there. My spring pack rides better with it.

    880 rounds of 7.62x54R :D

I usually just shovel (or load with the bucket on the tractor) a couple hundred lbs of snow into the back of the truck. It's free, I don't have to worry about it coming through the back window and killing me if I'm in an accident, and it's self-removing when things warm up. :notsure:

I put 150lbs in mine the first winter and didn't notice a difference. Never had problems anyway..I only did it because I had to buy the sand either way and was used to 4wd. 2 more winters since with no weight and no issues
