Except when it tries to kill you. :p

I have to say with my studded snow tires, I have to work to break it loose.

But that is my truck with my tires and my driving habits. :)

Well, whether a lie or a fact here's the damage, and woman who caused it. Her nearly direct quote..."I hit the brakes and nothing happened.."

What did you expect her to say, "Yeah I was a dumb ass going too fast in a parking lot full of ice"?

Or maybe her ABS did kick in and caused her not to stop?..

I wouldn't of believed it possible if it didn't happen to me a couple times.

My truck seemed to accelerate when abs kicks in on slushy roads. might be the tires, might be the brakes. Anyway you look at it, I pull the main abs fuse during the winter months and my truck stops perfectly in the snow and slush. I put the fuse back in during the summer months.

I think it's just the floor mat bunching up causing runaway acceleration.

They are probably slamming their brakes at the last minute and then wondering why their trucks slid/kept rolling... instead of slowly breaking a good distance from their expected stop.

Yup :D I drove my CRV that has No traction Controll and no ABS in that storm.
My biggest worry was people who can't drive, and think ABS is working for them.
Nothing funnier than watching their faces turn green when you stop on the dime in snow because your car has no ABS. And they try to slow behind you with ABS making them slide through stop sign next to you.
n00b drivers with their traction gizmos.

Last time I touched my brakes my car exploded and I was ejected into a snow drift.

That being said I worked on my ABS last night for hours. I'll have that 6 pack soon enough.

    This thread :violent:.

When I am driving my car with no ABS I slam on the brakes because I want to pile up snow inf front of tires when I need to stop.
That usually means people with ABS unless they a far from me have hard time stopping.
But hey if you rear end somebody it is automatically your fault, and dady's getting new set of wheels with NO ABS again. :D

ABS allows steering out of trouble when your brakes lock up. It can't stop you if you're going too fast for conditions (knucklehead).
