It's actually not as bad as you think. The S/C alone i lost some gas mileage. Once I added the 7th, the piggyback changes things. AFRs are much better and EGT's are way lower. I only lost about 1 mph and I drive like an asshole.

Someone hit my truck in the parking lot again. Same spot as last time. Hard not to be upset. I got another quote at the body shop who fixed that spot a few months ago and they laughed. Its frustrating, i always park away from people, I even parked in a different spot than usual becauase the snow bank offset the parking spot isles.

Should just bubble wrap the whole truck...

Or get a rear plate bumper ;)

The door and sill design on the first gen is wacko.. when the windows are down everything makes its way to the switch panel area liquid wise.. sometimes I forget and run the wipers with fluid to clean the windshield and it gets all over the inside door area.

I know how you feel. I've been hit while parked 7 times between 2 cars. One person left a note, however they were mistaken. The scrape they thought they caused had been there for months from some one else who hit my truck.

I feel like I need more horsepower lol a mid-travel suspension all around for starters, plate bumpers a winch and a bed cage with a roll bar. My last tacoma had a SC on it. I had a shop look at it cause I thought it wasn't tuned right but they didn't find anything. I think I rather avoid forced induction for this one though. But would love to get 250-300 horses XD

I thought LCE or somebody did a full rebuild of the 3.4L and was getting close to 300 HP naturally aspirated?

possible. But LCE doesn't sell parts for the 5vz anymore last i looked. And the amount of work and money you'd have to do to get that, be cheaper to just boost it. or swap a motor i bet.

True. I think they did it as a project for an auto trade show. An article was floating around about it a few years back. I seem to recall a price estimate of $14k tied to it. A blower or donor motor is much cheaper.

How much do you think you can get out of a 5vz with headers exhaust and cold air intake with a performance chip? I remember googling some parts awhile ago and saw a few with pretty nice performance output. But idk how well they really work on tacomas since I'm the only one of my friends (mostly jeep, and a couple full size truck) who owns a tacoma.

Just look at the build thread
When I was looking at getting some, I believe I read that the install required you to unbolt the motor mounts and hoist the engine up a few inches. But it may have just been a certain brand. But yeah, it was going to be a pain in the ass to do. Think the manufacturers were saying 6-8 hour DIY install time.

It will be a lot louder, most likely get less mpg cause you'll be on the throttle more and gain maybe 10hp?

All that costs close to $1000 for maybe 10hp

Supercharger with all stock parts and 7th injector $4k-ish for all new parts and can get you closer to 60-75hp I think.

I had to replace my exhaust manifold muffler when I got the truck so I went performance headers and magnaflow muffler.

But all in all its a lot of money for very little gain

So if you're set up and tuned you could possibly get at least 275hp out of it with a good exhaust setup and s/c?

No I mean a w56. It still has a 3.95:1 first gear though. Bayaretaco's crawl ratio will be 217:1 then, didn't think about that I don't have a tacoma tranny.
