The 14 bolt i had in my s10 on tons i did something i think i found on pirate4x4. I think it was called a orb of traction maybe. He took grade 8 bolts and nuts that fit into the cracks of the spider gears then fully welded it down then ground it down to fit in the housing.

here was mine i did for my poor mans locker

Suck it :luvya: Haha. It'll be cheaper than going to the new axles and I've always wanted links... So well... yeah. Just too much money to switch to tons right now.

Oh and SC install haha. Trust me, I'll believe it when I see it too

 Jon sorta talked me into it after I discussed it with him :anonymous:

Haha I'm just giving you shit. I'm going to wheel mine for a while to get really comfortable with it and I think I want to to 3 link the front a year or so from now. And you should just give me that SC now that I have a 3rz to put it on

I'd go with the second one, the angled grooves in the center should help lateral traction in theory. Would also curve the outer lug grooves like the first one for the same reason.

use a #6 rounded blade and go 3/16 deep. That will give you good traction but won't want to fuck with lug strength. just my experience. Not that Ive grooved CC's just lots of other tires (I have a grover)

I also wouldn't groove the outer lugs all the way. Start 1/2"-3/4" in from the sidewall. From my experience, the tires I've seen grooved all the way through the lug have chunked bad

Ok, I can definitely do that.

I was thinking right about 3/16" deep as you said. I was going to use a #4 blade as it seems really common? I'll have to try it out to see the difference. Can always use a bigger size, but can't go backwards :D

Well the outer lugs are already grooved about 1/4" deep from the outside in. They go about halfway from factory. I was just thinking of finishing off the groove to the inside.

Eric, how come CC's sometimes have a straight line down the middle of the tire and other times it's angled like in the pic that you posted? Does it depend on the size?

I believe the "line" you see is sometimes an illusion from the manufacturer pictures. I've never seen an actual straight line from a photo by a person.

Looks like he's also wheeling some dry environment... They kick ASS in the dry no doubt. He'd probably have a different opinion when it came to the mud though. But yea he grooved similar to what I am going to do. I'm going to do it like the most recent photo I posted, one of those 2 designs, just not sure yet.

Does a lot in the snow too. I've never wheeled in the snow so I don't know how that compares.

Reworked my rear hanger today. Moved the hanger about an inch and s half forward. The shackle angles are much better now.
