My Mom broke her arm yesterday slipping on a patch of ice. I'm crashing at her place for the night to help her out. Hooray for sleeping in my HS twin bed.

Spending the night looking up suspension stuff. Though it's not really my style, I think I've picked out the lift setup I'm going with. Seriously resisting the urge to overbuy, but every time I go down that road I end up pseudo-regretting it.

FJ monies have been approved and my bumper sold a few days ago. Gotta swap my suspension and then it's trade time!

Sucks to get rid of that awesome bumper Cam designed, but it's going to a good home.

I can't wait to get the keys to the new FJ :) :bananadance: :drunk: :woot: :bananadead:

Morin guys. Lisa and I are headed into the city and out first stop will be the green line over to BU and get some pizza at T Anthony's. We used to live there back in college. We are staying at the Liberty Hotel which is the old Charles Street Jail. Kinda fitting for an old married couple. Lmao

    Thanks!

Haaa...yeah. House is WAY to small for that to go on. My Mom's only a town over, so it's not that much of a hassle to go back and forth between my house and hers.

Right now it's 5100's F/R and the Icon 1.5 AAL.

I've been going back and forth a lot on this. My dream setup is the OME 885/Dakar with associated shocks and then aftermarket UCAs, but my best estimate shows that at somewhere in the $1,500 market.

I thought about going with the Bilstein 5160s in the back, but I'd like to have the 4 leaf TSB pack to run that setup (basically mimicking the Baja rear suspension) and so far I haven't been able to get my dealer to swap my 3 leaf for the TSB set. Since the 5160's are only rated to 1" rear lift, they won't really work as they don't make a 1" AAL.

The 5100 F/R will be a good compromise as the 1.75 up front should basically level me out with the ARB if not give me a slight nose-high setup, and the AAL should level me out if I'm truly noise high, or keep the factory rake if I'm not. Plus it's only about $550 total.

The OME would be idea, and in a perfect world I'd hae it as it's designed to hold the weight of my ARB, but I don't really want to go to 285s and if anything the 265s on OEM-esque wheels look a bit small relative to the truck. Plus, it's going to be a pain to have anyone short get into the truck at that height and I'd be real worried I won't fit into my garage anymore.

I don't see any heavy off-roading/rock crawling in my near future, so I think this setup will best meet my needs without overbuying. I have a set of lowering springs for the STi that I'm trying to off-load as I'm kinda over having a lowered car and I'm not convinced I might not consider selling it this spring so I should be able to put some of the profit towards the suspension.

I've been entranced by the idea of a 1990-96 300ZX TT T-Top lately so if I find the right one (5MT, 100% stock, 100% rust free), I may ultimately sell the Subaru, but we shall see.

Yeah I've said that about a few vehicles lol. The Tacoma is the only vehicle I've kept more than 3 years.

Nice..you had the Runner a while though right?

When I was younger I was lucky to keep something a year..usually just sold them and made money. My longest was my 1997 Olds Achieva, Nov 01 to June 07. In fairness, 6 months of that timeframe I was not able to drive it..said the registry and the courts!
