what's every ones input on how negatively a roof mounted LED light bar will effect MPG's? I know winter blend fuel is here so that has a negative effect, but I was averaging 16.5-17.5 all summer and now averaging 12.6-13. is the light bar a major player in the bad MPG's?

Thanks for the positive input sno_zps4835a3d7_a1c5f43ae10e1ad0d9dc8f398d99d7f6e33fe579.jpg

I don't think a light bar would cause that big of a difference. I have a yakima roof basket and it wasn't that much.

    Nice truck btw!

Thanks! yea im hoping its just winter blend gas. im not too sure on the average MPG loss with winter blend. just seemed weird to loose that much. I cant remember what my 06 DCSB with 100,000 miles got but I feel like it was better than that lol.

Do you warm up your truck for long periods of time? Believe it or not that can add up over a cold winter, it sure has for me.

Five minutes of idling making zero MPG adds up. That, and I know mine hates the cold. I'm getting 13-14 right now.

^ glad im not the only one lol.
i did have low tire pressure too. they were at 29, so i bumped up to about 38 ea tire. i will see how that helps this tank as well.

That winter blend hurts ! Air pressure probably affected it. That light bar adds some wind resistance but not that much. I think it is just the fuel and the idle to warm up the engine in the morning.

The light bar will have some negative effect....my Rackit Lumber rack cost me a bit over 2mpg on my 02 Tundra. Amazing what anything that disrupts the designed air flow will do to your mpg. Way back one of the 4wd mag did a test on a late 80's mini. Took off the lower valance from under the front bumper. Cost them just under 2mpg.
