Sure. Convince yourself it would be cheaper in the long run to jump head-first and spend $6000 on long-travel the first time. :)

So I'm getting the "spacers are bad" vibe loud and clear. If I look to a coilover lift (either billies or OME) what else do I need to add? I drive 90% on the road and the other 10% is snow or gravel. No big off road or flexing. Do I need to look at a diff drop, sway bar drop, skid plate drop, carrier drop??? At what point do I need to look at Doing UCAs?
Also, if I lift the front 2-2.5" what would be the best lift for the back end? AAL? I'd like to keep .5 to 1" rake and don't want or need to go higher than that up front.
I just got my '07 DCLB and was looking at a 2" spacer and a 1.5" AAL. Plan was to run the stock TRD Sport billies. The more research I do on here the more I'm thinking that holding off and saving a bit more for the coilovers is the way to go, just need to know what else is involved? Thanks in advance for any and all info that keeps me headed in the right direction! Lovin' all the info from the pros on TW so far!

We normally say if it's under 3in of lift you don't need UCAs but they will align better with them. Get the bilstein 5100s front and rear and set the front ones at whichever height you'd like or run eibach coils. Idk which coils off he top of my head and run a rear AAL. That's what I would do

X2, so many options with that set-up and could be done for not too much more than with a kit like, Readylift or RevTek. All said and done it would be within a couple hundred bucks.
The major upside is their is much less chance of negative side effects because these shocks are meant to be built to certain configurations. When adding the spacers and blocks your putting stress on components that were never intended to be used that way.

Okay. Pulled the trigger and ordered a set of 5100s with OME 885x coils. Waiting to see how it sits with that before deciding on what to do with the back. Now I wait. Thanks guys!

Not yet! This thread made me avoid starting with strut spacers. I'll be getting my coilovers on sometime in February. I'll put up some before and after pics once it happens. Gotta work around the weather up here! February is hit and miss......... mostly miss......

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
My first 2 lifts for Tacoma's were both off ebay, both spacer lifts. The 2008 sr5 4cyl access cab 4x4 5spd. Beat the shit out of it never had a single issue. Then on the DC OR Tacoma, spacers installed instant binding..

    Since moved on.. :)

No problem. They were cheap and got the job done on my 2008 sr5. I think about 70k miles, lots of fun.

I went with the aluminum 3" variety both times.

The experience was just cheap on the v6 TRD Offroad truck. I don't know what the difference was but the springs hit the UCA in the v6 truck.
