Again matter of perspective. The "thousands" more for you is because you are travelling to Vegas. Technically I am too but my truck is already in Vegas. So the opposite for me, it costs me more to go to Barstow than it does to get to Vegas. Our friends and support are in Vegas, we have places to stay, and we don't have to haul the truck more than a few miles. So the difference in that regard for me is I am Vegas based.

To each his own, I'm not knocking any of you. I love PB&J's too. I don't care what anyone else thinks either and that's not really a motive for me but there is value for our team in getting our truck in front of people because it's netted us support that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise for things I couldn't do on my own.

From my perspective I get to do both race against competition AND promote our team. We are looking at 10 trucks in class to race against AND we get to partner with some cool folks to do some neat things.

At the end of the day I'm not really interested in winning the internet. I understand it's not for everyone and I get why it's not for some people. No hard feelings. I didn't share the info to provoke an argument or defend it. I'm excited to be racing the Mint 400 this year, I'm really looking forward to it, and if anyone else is headed out to race or watch and wants to say hello please look us up!

Lots of new information for me about Sportsman to consider. I'm hoping to have "Martha" ready for sportsman in the next 3 years. 4cycl, TC kit, and leafs FTW!! Or least have fun doing it.

Wont matter where or how, the first time you throw on a helmet and leave the starting line you'll stoked regardless!

No hard feelings at all brotha!! Like I said, I race for myself because I love desert racing. Simple as that.
Im no keyboard warrior/ internet "expert". lol... that's why I don't comment much. I also never get offended. Don't care enough.
Our team builds everything in house. Been racing Desert since the early 90's everything from motorcyles to 1600 cars to 1400 and now class 2000. Its all relative. But ive done mostly all the races and can give an honest assessment based off my experiences. **Battling with the guys in your class, Having an awesome team, support crew and good time is all what matters!!! It took me a while to learn that.
Ill defenetly come by and say hi at the Mint!!!! Ill be racing with my boss in his Trophy Truck at that race. As long as Parker goes good for us next weekend.

i mean ten gallons better than not having it especially when youre racing longer laps. my buddiy has two pit crews (nine of us) 4-5 at each pit waiting for him.. i got for the experience. it's really an honorable experience to say you were apart of the bigger offroad race in the states. just seeing everyone drive by in the pits is exciting as welll.
give me a call when youre there. ill be there from wednesday till sunday. austin is racing the sportsman class again

Everyone does it differently to some degree and it changes from race to race depending on the course. For a loop race, the Mint for example has 3 pit areas. A main pit and two remote pits. We plan all of our planned stops at the main pit at the start/finish of each lap.

Instead of having people set up at the other two pits, we'll have a crew in a chase truck that will wait for us at the first remote pit, then cruise to the other. They'll transition back and forth lap to lap. We don't intend to stop unless something is wrong.

In our case since we're running GT we also have access to Baja Pits which is a pit service set up at each location with a full crew, tools, etc. So if we had to stop at either of the remote pits and didn't have the tools/resources to fix what we needed to, we'd seek out the Baja Pits guys.

LOL, there is always at least one of you on every internet forum. The kind of guy who logs on to the internet to complain about how lame the stuff on the internet is. Keep fighting the good fight buddy.

I know all about the weird comments people give you about having an LT truck in Texas. "Is that a solar panel on the front of your truck?" Me:" No that's a skid plate."

I don't know where in Texas you are but there is desert racing in W Texas. Get on RDC and look up the Beale Ranch. The Beales race TT and host races and off road weekends on their ranch. Great people.

X2. I'll never race but do enjoy reading about it. It's a nice change from the normal dick measuring contests.

Nice, theres a texas prerunners page on fb with a number of guys who moved from california. Im out here until august and then hopefully moving back to california but may end up staying.

I get the weirdest looks but people are pretty fascinated with them, im the only LT truck in town which is a big change from back home

Do these store bought welds come on a roll, or are they a brush on type? Never seen them before at harbor freight.

How long are you guys going between replacing UCA uni-balls? I just replaced mine and my drivers side has a lot of play compared to the pass side. Using TC replacements on a 3.5" over TC kit.

    Any input is appreciated.

I went about 65,000 miles on my original set (UCA and LCA). They were pretty bad when I replaced them.

I went away from heimed steering because it was eating heims like it was going out of style.

I know you would get it, I was hoping some others would too. Good luck at Parker, I wish I could make it.
