Issues? Maybe you should figure out how to get that resonator sensor back into the airstream??
It shouldn't be all that difficult considering what you've already managed to accomplish - btw, looks great!

Nothing major... just fun to play with is all.

Reminds me of my Prelude mods... I had all the bolt-ons, high quality parts too: AEM intake, Mugen header, Mugen exhaust, AEM pullies, hi-flow cat, etc. but nothing even came close the power of the supercharger. Just one hit and I was a boost addict!!!!!!!!

which sensor? There are only two. The MAF is still in its factory position. The other sensor doesn't appear to use any airflow to function and simply uses the factory resonator as a mounting point. I thought it was an EGR sensor, but I could be wrong. Do you know for sure what that sensor is? I need a damn facory service manual ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's ALWAYS my first and most important purchase, but I failed to get one.

LOL, sorry dude... perhaps I shoulda' taken a better look at mine first.
Looked to me like it was mounted there specifically for a very good reason.
    Subscribed, and best of luck!

no apologies necessary dude... I thought the same. I'm still not sure. this is where a toyota service manual would come in handy :(

learning a whole new platform is not easy.

Looks great. I am still thinking of a way to MOD my air intake. I am thinking of buying a TRD CAI and modifying it to work on our 5 luggers.

I think the TRD CAI is a very nice looking setup... I'd run it without hesitation. And I love the fact that Toyota can't dick with you for installing one of their own aftermarket parts. Sucks that they don't make one for us...but I assume the demand for 2.7L is low compared to the v6.

That isnt a sensor, i belive its a vacuum switch. I cant find the thread now but i was looking to do the same thing as you and managed to find it before. It gose to a peice of the emissions equipment but deffnitly has nothing to do with the intake and is just mounted there. Cold air intakes relocate this if that offers any assurance.

yep, you're correct... its a vacuum switch to an emissions pump located near the pass. headlight. The pump turns on at cold startup, then appears to shut off about 10 to 20 seconds later. Mine makes a high-pitched whine when its activated.

no more issues. I thought I might be having issues with the vacuum switch that I relocated from the back side of the factory intake tube to a custom made bracket on the VC. its not an issue and works fine.

the other problem was with my couplers...they kept coming off. our motors are torquey and move alot, so having a ridged tube attached to the airbox without enough flex posed a problem. I added another coupler into the setup and made sure everything had some flex/play in it and that the clamps were as tight as can be without crushing the tubing.

review of butt dyno coming soon.........................

I'm still in the fab/testing/butt dyno process... I'll give more details once everything is perfect.

I'm considering removing the resonator in the fender and maybe changing the intake tube size from 3" to 2.75". I feel like I lost a little low end, below 3000 rpms, but above that...it hauls. Plus I use to have a weird dip in the powerband around 3500 to 4500 rpm - thats completely gone now

and did you notice any of a sound gain when you removed that piece?

It was such a BITCH to remove those damn clips... horrible design and not intended to be removed by your DIY'er. they are still in good shape, I just chose not to re-use them because I'm sure I'll need to get back in there at some other time. I plan to add a velocity stack here...
