My searching is bringing up lots of lifts, but I'm curious as to what shocks/struts folks have used and liked/disliked as STOCK REPLACEMENTS.

    Thanks !

The 5100's are great and they dont break the bank. Are you still running the original stock shocks?

Mine on my 05 were original, I replaced them at 152,xxx and the fronts were toast. One didnt budge after I compressed it, the other barely came back up.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I put Monroe OESpectrums on the rear of my '06 and was happy with them. I can however say that I'm so pissed off about the Monroe ready struts that I put on my wife's Camry, that I'm not sure that they will ever get any of my money again.... Clunking POS struts.

I put a set of Monroes on my 84 Capri RS. Junk. I would be upset if they weren't $80 for the entire set. They are still "fine" but the damping performance is terrible and has been since the day I put them on. Very Buick-esque. For a Tacoma if you never have plans for a lift I would go with the Bilstein HD shocks. I had these on an 05 access cab 4x4 and I loved them. A hair firmer than stock but way better handling. I have 5100's on the rear of my current truck but fronts have been on back order since November with Bilstein. I hear I might see them late next month.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
TRD Baja. Stock height for a Baja, better than 5100's. About $1500 and I love the ride

Second best. Probably 5100's, can be stock height or Baja height and cheaper. Still pretty damn good ride.

When that site says "4 shocks" does it mean "2 shocks and 2 struts" ? Heck, I've replaced my hub bearings myself and don't remember ever even paying attention to whether those are shocks or struts up front ! I had looked seriously at the KYB monotube Gas A Just since I've always liked them on my Mustangs and they list 2 shocks / 2 struts for my 06. I will seriously look into the Bilstein 5100s, though !

Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Front set @ 0 with OME 883x coils. Alcon leaf springs. Viper Alarm. Wet Okole seat covers. WeatherTech Floor liners front and back. Oem Toyota chrome exhaust tip. ARE Shell. America Outlaw Wheels.
I have been running 5100's on all fours for the last year and the half. Fronts set at 0 with the OME 883's coils and love the way they preforms . Now for the rears that is a different story. Now don't get me wrong. I love the 5100's but after the second set leaking I decided to just go with the billstein 4600 hd. I am stock high in the rears and really didn't need the option of being able to lift. They ride good and are beefier then the stock ones that come with the TRD off road package. That being said this is just my 0.02 cents. ;)

just got off the phone with them because it seemed too good to be true, and it was. seems they have a glitch, when your looking at the adjustable struts and the link "get a great deal on 4 shocks" lets you order just that, 4 SHOCKS, so they had to correct the order to include 2 shocks and 2 struts adding $70 to the order making total cost $366. they said they can't figure out how to fix the glitch, I told them to fire their DBA and their Sr .NET admin and hire someone who knows how to run a back end database and a .NET server so they communicate correctly. Lol

yes, for $366 which is average price, i tried to get them to commit at charged price (like a walmart where wrong price on shelf) they replied they would happily cancel order, lol, it was worth the shot.
