Again, are you financing this truck? I don't know if you saw my post but there are quiet a few dealers who won't allow you to finance the S/C into the truck price. Toyota actually doesn't allow it, but like with a lot of things certain dealers will bend that rule but you have to find the right guy.

And the Pro's are hard to find with the trailer package. Without the trailer package you're going to have to add a few things to tow the trailer you have

For sure. I was just letting him know that if he's like me and doesn't have $5000 to throw at a down payment with a baby at home (your income usually drops when the wife is on maternity leave) that a S/C might not be a viable option right off the bat. It sounds like they are a young family, like mine, with two car payments which can make money a lot tighter than it would be which effects how comfortable you are emptying the savings account.

Then again maybe he's a lot better off than me and has that kind of cash waiting around plus enough for the baby and momma. Just food for thought.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I did, typed a nice thought out reply.. Lost when computer froze:)

So, I wish I could say yes to buying cash. But for now I will settle for knowing that I paid off my debt other than vehicle and house payments.

I have received both answers on financing the blower from different dealers. I knew about that because I have read up on it in the past, between different dealers approach and the down payments it shouldn't be an issue. I appreciate you pointing it out!

Nope.. not much better off. Paying off my other debts was the first step.

2 house payments (rent and mortgage) and 2 car payments again.. :/ yeah the indefinite wife off work cut in income hurts. She has been off work since the move. Then no one hires a prego lady.

Sold the 4runner after the move, it was too expensive at first with all the craziness to have 2 vehicles that got less than 20mpg. I drove my 85 Yota a lot to save gas. Things got better, got the car which saves tons of gas running around vs driving the truck or 4runner everywhere. And now other bills are gone, bills from remodeling the house etc. So being "ahead" is a nice benefit. I don't really want more of a payment than my 2013, but a little more with still having a truck I can enjoy and that does the jobs it needs to is worth it. Plus, the payment is only until it is paid off! This may be my fourth Tacoma since 08 but its a combination of needing more (first one 4cyl 5spd) hating the truck (auto/SB) and now unfortunately I love my truck, but I need the cab space for the baby seat. I can live with the short bed now having my good running 85 (7'3" bed) to haul things that wont fit vs my 2012. Then I only had the play truck, the 85 was a project and the Tacoma was all I had to use as a Truck. 5ft bed is much less useful for the projects I had than the 6ft bed.

Do you really need two cars that can haul a baby? You have a carolla...just make sure whichever parent is on baby duty that day has the car. The other drives the truck you have. Just plan ahead and make sure that both parents and the baby don't need to be in the truck at the same time and I think you'd be fine.

I agree here. We have an 7 week old and my Tacoma is a regular cab. My wife's '13 Honda Civic is the baby wagon and it hasn't been an issue. When I pick up the rug rat from daycare, the regular cab is plenty for me and him. If all three of us go somewhere, it's in the car. Keeping your AC may be your best bet.

    Yes and no.

I have been giving this idea thought, with one large hurdle and a few small ones.

When I make 1200 mile road trips with the trailer, I would have to do 2 vehicles. OR leave the wife and kids, and although the drive would be more pleasant that way..

It would save money though vs getting a new truck. That's always good.

Nice. I always liked the regular cab trucks. But my dog necessitated the Access and I fell in love with it. THEN I got the v6 6spd and its perfect, for me as a truck. Hmm..

If I do keep it it wont be a problem once the new baby is in a booster seat. Its just that giant baby seat.
