These will be my go-to tires for quite a while. They have performed better than I honestly expected in numerous different terrains. The only thing I haven't tested yet is with aired down crawling.

What's the big deal about carrying a full size spare daily? I actually do a 5 tire rotation with mine. Are you planning on taking the HC spare tire carrier on and off? That seems like a lot of work.

Not trying to be a dick I was just trying to see what the idea behind not carrying one is. Being that it was a factor weightwize for how my rear suspension was set up I just figured you may want to leave it on. And aerodynamically pretty much negligible.

Everyone that is so caught up on the spare tire...
This will be my final thoughts on the issue of why / why not / blah blah blah
These are my reasons... they don't have to yours :D

    Stock Spare:
    — It's still on because it doesn't bug me (like it bugs some of you) and its not hurting anything.
    — it will be removed soon though when I put a true hi-clearance bumper on which WILL NOT have a spare tire swing out because I don't want to carry a full size spare around to the grocery store.

    Full Size Spare:
    — I have one... it's on my trailer, exactly where I want it.
    — Carrying a full size 35" spare around on my daily driver is just not for me.
    — I don't see any reason to have it when I'm going to the grocery store.
    — If I get a flat while at the grocery store I will call Triple A to the rescue lol
    — While offroad I have my spare on the trailer and a patch kit, on board air etc

This again is just the way I think about this ever so popular stock/spare tire issue... we all have our reasons and build our rigs to fit our needs though so I don't expect everyone to share my same thought process :D

:amen: roger that. Hear you loud and clear. Was just curious...... wanted your opinion didn't mean to oppose you. Just didn't have a clear picture on your thoughts and was interested because you obviously know what you are doing.... carry on and i won't bother you again :pccoffee:

    Never oppose me again! lol
It's not just you with the spare issue... I have been battling this topic since I started this build and probably average a dozen comments a month on it throughout all the channels I post pictures.

I like the way it looks on a lot of builds how they incorporate a full-size spare in the bed (my bed is too full for that though) or even on a swing out and I was originally thinking about doing a swing out but for me it all comes down to it being my daily driver and I only see a benefit of it there when I'm out being a weekend warrior offroad.

gotcha.... spare tire on the rear bumper does take up a lot of room and creates a blind spot. hows visibility with a camper? I've never been in a tacoma with one on it before.

Hey man. I don't carry a spare tire around town either. I just carry a slime plug kit. Which one do you use? I'm shttn bricks and scared of a flat sometimes... I have horrible luck. I also have triple a bit never realized they can do anything with a lifted truck? Thanks for your advice. I hate carrying spares... Bad habit I know

How does AAA treat a blow out? They take your wheel down to the tire shop to get a new one?

Where did you put more switches for all your off road accessories? If your truck was like mine it came with all the switches already (so no blanks left to use). Just trying to find ideas before I pull the trigger on getting started.
    Thanks

I currently have them mounted in some of the factory locations with some random switches I picked up at a local shop.

This is just temporary though — I will be getting an sPOD system this month and mounting all my switches in the sunglass visor space.

I'll post this when I get it in and document the install :D

So far I'm loving it. I feel a little extra "pep in my step" and am seeing a little over 1 mpg increase average on 102 gallons I have put through it since installing.

The only thing I haven't really tested yet is towing — my trailer is in another state getting some more work done to it.
