Wouldn't be surprised if your DL #'s jumped. (Unless the hex plates were only a temporary phase.) Bumper plates are the greatest thing. Luckily my school has them and a platform. Lowering 400+lbs so it doesn't crash tires me out almost as much as the lift.

Yes sir. Google some doctors/offices in your area. Or go to a physician and have them do a referal.

Find a doctor who specializes in Sports Medicine. Regardless of who you find, make sure they understand what you expect to be doing once healed. In some cases, it drives how they treat your injury.

However, sometimes the specialists are booked solid and you have to go to someone who is the on call physician....so depending on the area you may have to take who is available.

Are you wanting to get bigger? Or mainly just concerned with losing belly fat? You're about my size, so I know you can't have that much belly fat to lose. Lol.

How long have you been lifting?

Make sure you're doing squats and other compound movements and your stomach will tighten up. I had the "skinny fat belly" when I started lifting again, too. After a few months of lifting, I hadn't lost weight, but my stomach had "toned up".

Ideally I would like to get bigger and loose the belly fat at the same time. Haha yeah your right...I don't have a lot of belly fat but it's definitely there and not toned at all. It actually feels like maybe there's a half inch of fat there

I've been lifting for 3 months, 5 days a week for about 1.5 hours a day but I havent been concentrating on abs at all

As far as squats go I was doing them once a week but the bar pad is torn so I'm waiting for my manataray to come in...in the mean time I've been doing leg presses

Don't worry about the pad. Don't need it.

I'm 5'8", and when I started back lifting I was 147. I did abs M-W-F and did cardio (basically just ran a mile at 6 mph...nothin strenuous) T-Th. But the main thing was compound lifts. Bench, Squats, Deadlifts. Anything that uses your core is going to help tighten it up. When you're squatting, make sure your core is engaged and tight.

Of course, there's the old saying "You can't out train a bad diet". And that's 100% true. In order to get bigger, I upped my protein and carb intake, and lowered my fat and sugar intake. I'm at 160 now and my stomach looks smaller than it did at 147. Gonna take a lot of work to tighten up the stomach if you're eating crap all the time.

I've eaten like shit this weekend. Yesterday was Taco Bell Chicken Quesadilla and a triple steak stack, then Zaxbys. Today was grilled chicken nachos from a local mex place.

    That's ok though, it's bulking season. Life's a bulk.

No doubt the good ones are booked. There's a reason for that :D

The most important thing is to be clear about what you expect to get back to doing. But a doctor who is familiar with sports injuries probably knows more about how to make that possible or how to explain things are going to be different.
