no doubt, hard to find a balance between people who think their dogs are worth millions and those that have great dogs but dont flaunt it.

The pup we're picking up is akc registered but I'm not sure what pure bred really means anymore unless its really full on tracked that well. Those are the spendy pups and are not what Jen and I are looking for. Hips are good to ask about when questioning the breeder when labs are concerned.

I am pretty sure Ash is not pure bred catahoula. Which isn't saying much since the breed itself is a glorified mutt haha. The parents appeared standard for catahoulas but I am guessing somewhere down the line there is one mixed breed. I just don't see how the long hair could have came about other wise. Id have to look into the blood lines and see if long hair is a recessive trait. Most catahoulas are bred with other dogs though so it wouldn't surprise me if it happened.

Good looking pups in the pictures. Be sure to check into hip issues. I didnt. Bought a female chocolate lab. She is 8 years old and most days has a hard time even walking. She still has the heart adn play of a pup but the ol hind legs keep her down. Sad to see.

I have also been looking at the baofeng radios. I think I am going to pick up 1 or 2 just as backup or if someone has to get out and walk they can carry it. Nice part is if you drop it or lose it it's not a hugh loss.

Funny you say that. My child hood labs were similar. One was obese from day one. Weighed 120lbs, lazy, and had tumors like none other. Lived past 10. Then my dog, missy, was highly athletic and had superb health. Her hips unexpectedly deteriorated at age 8 and had to be put down. Length of the life isn't what I want. I just didn't want a dog that cost $100+ a month in medications and pees uncontrollably. 8 years with a dog with bad hips is just as rewarding. If Ash for some reason passed away tonight, it would have been completely worth it.

Two best dogs we've ever had was a Lab and a Blue Heeler. Both were great dogs and smart.

Blue Heeler will definitely be my next dog. Not another yappy one like my Jack Russel haha

The last dogs I had at home were these two below and I knew I didn't want another english setter where we live because they've got a need to run for miles and miles and are slightly schizophrenic... haha But damn do they make good pointers!

This was snickers, she past at 14 years:

    haha in the little bed!

Yea Jeff it was either me, my bro, or my dad. That was a good few years ago and I cant remember, was an awesome day on the birds, they were all holding that tight. I want to get back in the field with my good camera and catch stuff like that, although it's pretty tough to get em like that...

O, hes the guy that posted in the thread at the very end. I am thinking about just re-routing mine back into the engine bay and calling it good.

Although, this didn't come out terrible. I don't like the base but once he painted the PVC black it looked alright.

 I wont. Just bored and looking at snorkel alternatives since I am not a fan of the options we do have. Jeeps and even FJ have really nice options for the "stubby" snorkel look but the PVC looks decent for $30.

I'll replace the liner before I go drilling holes.

I just need to find a place to get the UHMW and I would pick some up. I guess I could order it off Amazon though.
