Decided there was a small turn out at the last IASCA competition last saturday and convinced the wife to enter the Taco in SQc (Sound Quality Challenge) and she took 2nd place! Of 6 other cars that aint half bad considering the other 5 cars easily had 3 times the money invested.

She runs in the DC Taco:

    Pioneer 800PRS
    Sundown 1500D
    Sundown 100.4
    Aura Force 250
    Image Dynamics XS69 components
    Image Dynamics IDQ10's
    Mr Marv Box
A bunch of Second Skin deadener

See, a simple well thought out system can take home trophies. :p

I need to brag cause this was her first and I hope she has been bitten by the bug. ;)

Why did you need 3 amps? I guess I'm not sure why you needed both the Aura Force and the Sundown 100.4

Call us power junkies that love headroom. 800wrms on the subs, 320wrms on each midbass, and 75wrms on each tweet. Something I have noticed is midbass really comes alive with 250w+.....very true in this install as well. Now really, she uses about 25% of the power available but you CAN hear the difference.

Didn't ever think about separate amp for the tweeter.

While I'm thinking about it, what's your thoughts on preamp voltage? I think I'm grumpy about my current deck's 2.0V unless there's something else I'm not thinking of... I used to have a DEH-P690UB with 4.0V and it sounded like it did a much better job.

A hotter signal into the amps will definately make a difference. You may be able to get by with a line driver.

Alpine tries to jerk you around by making 4.0V preouts available if you buy the PXA-H100 accessory.

    Very very nice!

I'll be building a hardcore SQ Tacoma in the near future. I'm getting the parts together already and I'll be starting the build soon.
