Getting irate wouldn't have changed anything in this situation. Probably would be more detrimental than do any good.

I feel sorry for you OP. I'm approaching 6 months with my truck and haven't decided if I want to let the dealer touch my truck.

Now I'm going to be a little harsher on you then some of the guys who say you did the right thing by not saying anything at first. All that did was bring a reason of doubt into the situation. You didn't have to scream or be a "calm a** hole". But you should have said something before getting in that truck and driving away. I hope you don't have a problem getting things right but you already gave away that inch.

OP, if your dealer is like mine (a good one) the tech will get fired and they will take care of you. We can all play armchair quarterback (as we will today for the superbowl), but you took pictures and they are reviewing the security cameras. It's certainly good that you witnessed the event. Your vigilance will hopefully save many people hassle or worse by bringing attention to this punk tech.

I would have had a very hard time keeping my cool. Hope you get it fixed without too much hassle. This is just reason #6365432979 why I do all my own work on our vehicles.

So, if they are responding well after close, maybe not every single person that works at the dealership is an a-hole.

There are people in that profession that try to do their best, and then they are responsible for absolute douchebags that are stuck in their departments.

I hope they take care of you and make things right. Your negative publicity can cost them much more than the repairs to your truck.

I agree with not screaming, but did he really 'caught them in a trick'? No, he let them drive away from the scene of the incident. All he has now is a pic.

Still waiting at the dealer. Took the tech for a drive on the interstate and he looked scared when I let go of the wheel and the truck darted.

Video from my trip to the dealer. Look at it pulling opposite the slope in the road. Otherwise road is flat.
