Looking for a new leftover 2014 Tacoma 4x4 V6 and am willing to travel. Who is aggressively discounting in the US?

When you sell the best selling mid size truck in the world, you don't aggressively discount anything.

You can count out Colorado... They haven't had any on the lots for months.

We often get $1K discounts down here in Texas to keep loyalists from taking the $10K plus incentives on Chevys and Frods.

Might be hard to find any leftover 2014s but it's possible. Getting a 2015 this fall or at the end of this year is usually when they start giving you good deals to clear out their lot to make room for the 2016s.

Toyota is actually producing Tacomas at max capacity right now because they can't keep up with demand, so your not likely to get any kind of significant discount.

Not sure what your definition of "aggressive" is, but Mountain States Toyota in Denver is advertising about $2,000 to $2500 off MSRP right now, and they have over 40 on the lot. Larry Miller in Denver is advertising over $1,000 off MSRP. Both will go lower with negotiation. I bought my '14 from Mountain States, and it was a very good experience.

They know everyone wants one, so if you don't buy it someone else will. Even at Ernie Boch in Mass. Mr. I have the lowest prices because I have no overhead. Blah Blah Blah. Lucky if you get a 1,000.00 off

When the 12s were rolling out was the best pricing I could find for my (then) 2011. Wait until there are 16s on the lots and shop around.

I was having a hard time locating 2015 Access Cab V6 PreRunner Trd Sport Super White.
My dealer had one coming end of Feb. but discount was insulting to me having bought other cars and trucks there with great pricing.
Started searching the Toyota dealers all over SoCal and found 2.
Asked for the internet price on both.
One was $950 under sticker and only a couple hundred cheaper than my dealer.
The other was $1533 under sticker so I drove south 45 miles and saved some money on the truck I wanted.
Double cabs are everywhere so imagine you can deal more on them.

Why did you put this in the "3rd Gen" section, which starts in 2016? Also, i doubt you will find a big discount.

How long ago did you purchase your '14? When I was looking in Oct/Nov, no new 14's were anyplace. And very few 15's were on the lots at that time as well. Just curous, cuz I am holding out for a '16 now.

2015 Tacomas are missing from Austin lots too. My dealer told me it's not that they can't keep Tacomas, it's more that they're not getting them from the factory. Got a crapload of Tundras, though. Lots of deals even on 15's. Colorados, on the other hand, sell before they even arrive. Dealers get a 3 or 4 truck allocation, and sell them while still "in transit." What kind of monkey-lovin' nonsense is that? Did Toyota have to fill a several-thousand truck fleet order or something? Where's the Tacos?!?

Apparently, all the extra dealer ordering for the oil fields hasn't worked out that great with the price of oil dropping as much as it has. Oil layoffs around here have happened fast. Oil needs to be above $80 a barrel to be profitable for Texas. A lot of FS trucks are camped on the lots.

But the Colorado's payoff to Motor Trend, as well as its "aggressive" marketing campaign (please) are keeping it popular.

I got my '14 over a year ago, when they still had '13s on the lot, and they would do a few hundred over invoice on either year. You are correct that there are few '14s left at dealers, but the price today on a '15 is within a few hundred of the best prices you could get on a '14.

$80 maybe the breakeven on some fields but not all. If $80 was the break point the oil companies would be capping all the wells.

I know my next-door neighbor is now unemployed and trying to find work. They let 1200 go from his group. He's looking for a non-oil related employment at the moment.

The only deals in my area I ever see for Tacoma's is on a lease. Lots of deals to buy a Tundra though. Tons of them on the lots all over...

the tacoma is like the only toyota model that never has any special financing options either. simple supply and demand.
