I cancelled my order for a 2015 a couple of months ago, since decided to wait for the 2016.

However, my Tacoma Limited, DoubleCab, Short Box with running boards, etc has been sitting on the lot since Christmas. The salesman called this morning, and they are pressuring me to take the truck at dealer invoice, $37,337 OTD, which includes license, tax, all fees, etc. That price seems incredibly low.

I am very tempted, particularly since I struck a huge buck, totaling my Pontiac Vibe AWD while driving back from the Detroit Auto Show a couple of weeks ago. I went there to see the new 2016 Tacoma.
    Opinions, please!

1.) When you seen the 2016 in person did it blow you away at first sight? Compared to the 2015 on lot which attracts you more visually? Looks to some mean nothing to me they're near everything in a vehicle.

2.) will you want to modify the truck? If so be prepared to be stock on the 2016 for a good year till some decent and proven options come out. One thing to consider a 2015 you can do whatever you please to "now".

That's how is decide anyhow. I'm jealous you got to see the 16 in person, pictures are so hard to base decisions off of.

Thats a real tough decision to make. From my only person experience , and after dealinh with a new model run ( 03' accord- had some issues due to first year revamp), I would stick with the tried and true 2015. I think you may be able to do a little better then 37,300 for the truck that dealer has. Have you tried to wiggle with him. Maybe throw out 36,500 and see what they say.

I agree with OICU too though. Pictures dont do it justice, how did it look in person?

$37,300 seems kinda high for a limited. What extra have you had put on it?

The Limited I'm looking at right now in Austin is $33,340, and that includes towing package. It's a Prerunner, not 4WD.

No, the 2016 Tacoma didn't really look much different than the 2015, plus it was on a revolving platform, so couldn't look inside, get a real good look, etc. We did have a nice time looking at it, listening to the representatives presentation, etc.

I'm with you, looks mean almost zero. However, in listening the rep, it seems as though many nice improvements in the 2016. No, I'll not modify the truck, since at age 72, well over that sort of thing.

If not for totaling my AWD Vibe on the way home from the auto show I'd have waited for the 2016 just for the major improvements, blind spot monitoring, etc, which is nice for us old decrepit fellas.

Possibly I paid too much for this 2015 Tacoma, however, it is a Limited Model, 4X4, factory running boards, etc. My OTD price ended up at exactly $37,000 including tax, fees, title & reg, factory running boards, about $450, etc. The Limited package is $7610. My actual price before taxes would have been about $35000.

    Cool!

Guess I didn't properly word that. Looks mean a ton for me, based in pictures I like the 2015 Gen 2 etc..much much more but that's me and again only pictures really wish I could see the 2016 in person and sadly the big car show in April here is said to not have a 2016 to see :( .....

If I'm alive at 72 and nimble enough to climb into a small truck id be happy as hell lol.

The 2016 Tacoma looked great on that platform. However, would have loved To look inside, etc. The outside, in reality, looked the same as the 2015 to me. However, the last Toyota I owned was a 1997 T100, which was superb in reliability, etc. I loved that truck, and should have not sold it!!!

Hey, you'll be alive at 72. In my wildest dreams, never believed I'd live this long.

$6200 for Limited down here. 4x4 adds to it, as would long bed if it had one. And you added the boards, which is also an up charge.

I just priced my selection out if it was 4WD and long bed, and it added $3K to the 6200. You did great.

Thanks, Captain. You are a gentleman, I needed that comment! Hey, my granddaughter, Sheena, attends college at Austin. She was just here a month ago.

    You're quite welcome!

This is a fantastic town for music, food, art, music, and food. So many great places to fatten up...rock out...then fatten up again. Franklin BBQ is worth the line.

This is a horrible town for traffic and liberal-ass tree-hugging hippies who feel that it's more important to build bike lanes on roads that are already too narrow than to build proper roads to new developments BEFORE the houses and apartments go in.

Sorry, that's been building and I haven't vented this week.

Hope she enjoys school. It's a great town.

Hey, Captain. Yes no doubt you're right. My granddaughter, Sheena loves it there, and why too smart to be a Liberal!!

Hey, venting is good for the soul! Thanks again for the encouraging comments.:)
