Tailgate TSB got denied

    I took my 08 truck in yesterday for the tailgate TSB pre-inspection. The service manager said that there were no signs of cracks or bending so he could not authorize it. I thought the tailgate TSB was also preventative. Oh well, I told him, "l'll be back in a couple days with a bent tailgate." Any ideas:D.

    jackasses...i hate it when they say stuff like that...if your tailgate bends your obviously using it and you dont have time at that moment to get it fixed...much better to get it sorted before the problem occurs...oh well

    The tailgate TSB has never been "preventative". It fixes a bent tailgate.

    Why fix something that isn't broken? Use it and abuse it for a while. It's only an 08 so if you want a new one just wait a bit before the warranty is up and then do some bending.

    The easiest way I found to bend it is stand on the tailgate facing away with your heels on the edge. Jump up and down on one foot in the middle and it will bend like a freaging paperclip.
