Once again you are wrong, that's twice in the same thread. And shooting your smart mouth off about it to boot. Now that's funny.
Early Tacos and T-100s had vacuum modulated FPRs with vacuum sourced from downstream of the t-body and incorporated an ECM controlled VSV to modulate it. Later they went to the fixed pressure set up with the previous vacuum hose serving as a vent line plumbed into the resonator box.

    Layout on a V6.

    A bit more.

It starts correctly now, thanks to the best dealer tech ever.
OP, I have nothing to offer in terms of advice about the issue with your truck, as I am fairly clueless on most of this stuff.

However, I would like to offer you well wishes, and also tell you (in case you didn't know already) that you should most definitely listen to whatever Bama and Dirty Pool tell you - these guys know what they are talking about, and have given me tons of great advice with ongoing issues with my 98 Taco. IMHO, you can consider what they tell you to be the very best advice/insight you'll find, period.

And ignore that guy that's being a jerk. Can somebody ban him from the forum? He's not very nice. I thought the point of these forums was to help one another troubleshoot issues, not bash on others in an attempt to look cool (didn't work by the way).

    Good luck OP :)

EDIT: Didn't mean to discredit the other guys giving advice on this thread by praising Bama & DP only. Steve had some great insight on my Taco's issue just recently, and I'm just not familiar with the other folks on your thread.

    x2

I was incorrect in my statement about the fuel pressure. The pressure is static and doesn't increase. I don't know what I was thinking last night. :drunk:

Time for me to man up and admit I was dead wrong on the vacuum line(s) on the power steering system, thank you for the education and my apologies to BamaToy.

As for the fuel pressure regulator diagrams, they're for a V6 and I'm pretty sure the OP has a 4-banger but I'll go ahead and assume that engine is also vacuum referenced.

    I stand corrected.

I thought this guy was just being a dick to me but he is repeating his trolling insults to anyone and everyone in threads just to take shots at people.

he definitely needs to be banned if he cant understand how to treat others with respect

this guy knows absolutely nothing (just look at his past posts) and he never posts to offer any help, he only posts to ridicule and insult others who are genuinely trying to help.

he is even trying to tell certified mechanics they don't know what they are talking about, this know nothing idiot who thinks he is the only one who knows anything is simply amazing

I see you've been going back and editing and deleting previous statements you made. What was your phrase? Idiots helping idiots? Funny you deleted that after you yourself posted incorrect information.

Doesn't do a whole lot of good going around bashing people for making mistakes, only to post bad information yourself.

I said "If his is connected to the induction tract resonator box like every other fuel injected Toyota I've seen, try plugging a vacuum gauge there and see if it reads "high intake vacuum" at idle like you seem to imagine."

Have somebody read it for you if that helps.

Wow. Not kidding, how do we get this guy banned? He's really a jerk! I'll report him, I don't care, how do I do it?

I want to be able to post my questions, whether they're dumb or smart questions, on Tacoma World, without having to worry about that guy telling me I need to ride the short bus or something.

That is just sad, how insecure does a person have to be to try to boost their self esteem by insulting people on a truck forum? Pathetic.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
You guys are a lot fairer than me. He would be perma-banned with an attitude like that if I was a mod. Maybe this 10 day hiatus will teach him something I hope. People like that drive good members away and make the place unwelcoming to newcomers.
