Anyone have tint on their windshield?

If so, how much, and how do you like it?

 

I would not get tint on the windshield because I think it will be kind of hard to see at night. I used to have tint all around except front in my old car. Sometime kind of hard to see at night with dark tint, so I change it to light tints.

 

I have mine fully Tinted. I love it! But...... It is a HUGE ticket if you get pulled over. Here in AZ I think its like $500+. Don't get it very dark because it will make it hard to see out at night.

 

I wasn't planning on getting it done darker than 35%. I know how hard it is to see out at night because I have limo on the fronts and rears, and I sometimes have to roll down my windows at night to parallel park.

In cali its a decent fix it ticket too.

 

Yeah I think mine is 25% or 35% Can't remember. It is slightly mirrored as well. people can only see my hands on the wheel while driving, nothing any farther back then that. if its night or cloudy you can't see in it at all. The tint is nice when driving with the sun in your eyes. Also it keeps the truck cool inside. I too have mine limo all of the way around and have to roll the fronts down when parking also.

 

I have seen other trucks with there front windshield tinted and yea it looks cool but in a month or two they remove it. I have 15% on my fronts 35% over the stock tint in the rear. I have to roll down my window all the time at night while backing up if I'm in a dark area. I wouldn't tint my windshield cause I drive at night a lot and wouldn't want anything lowering my vision.

 

Amaes looks like your taco is BSP the same as mine. Hard for me not to tint everything, cause they look so good blacked out in my opinion. I'm always getting compliments.

i used to have 35% on my windsheild with 5% all the way around..

shit was VERY dark. i could smoke weed/get head and no one had any idea.

 

I think a windshield tint strip looks cool, but not tinting the entire window.

 

That's not so bad. First shot looks a little gray, bet it looks better in person. I need to update my pictures I have also done the BHLM, Grillcraft grill, and painted the chrome around the grill black. I didn't let the chrome part I painted dry long enough and it took a beating so I eventually have to do it again. I have seen darker windshield tint by me, PA NJ area and couldn't imagine how dark it must be at night.


I haven't had any problem with tints on my windows from police but with a windshield tinted that would bring unwanted attention here. If your going to need to pass inspection soon there not going to pass you either I bet. I don't know how to tint, maybe you do, but it's going to start getting expensive paying to tint/remove/tint/remove

I have to get to school early to get this spot, but then my truck sits right outside the building and all day people get to look at it.

 

I actually just put ceramic tint on my windshield. It cuts 100% UV rays, 50% heat and the best part is it looks bone stock. You could never tell I have it on there unless you read this post.

It is a little more expensive ($120 for my entire windshield) but really cuts the heat and the glare down.

No level of tint is legal in California on the windshield (most states in fact). Tinting the front windows is also illegal. It's also up to the discretion of the officer whether it's a fix-it ticket or a non-correctable violation which bumps up the fine (court costs).

 

I put 35% in the front, to be legal, and 20% in the back - but 20% plus the stock windows being smoked made it about 4%, it's really dark. Wish I had put 35% all around, but no big deal. In my state you can do fronts up to 30% or so, totally legal. Most states are like that, the poster above is incorrect. Check with your local PD of course.

Unless you just meant cali. Last time I was there (lived there 6 years ago) you could do some shade of light tint on the front windows, maybe the laws have changed since.

I understand. Not everyone does know it's illegal since a lot of people do it anyway, so I post just to inform/remind. I've been ticketed for light tint on the front windows in the past. It's also useful for those who search.

 

What's the tint (smoked) percentage on our rear windows?

 

My g35 had tint in the front... it was on it before I bought it. It was extremely light and I presume mostly to block UV, to the point you *almost* couldn't tell it was there. It did help a lot... without even realizing it most of the time it'd cut the glare back a bit and make it nicer to drive. It was completely illegal though but I never got caught and it never bothered me at night so I left it... I kinda wish the taco had it also.

 

Kyouto, front tint in my city in AZ here is limited to 33%, and that aint bad. 35% is real common at the shops.
