Yeah that's what I'd heard. That's why I thought I'd ask. Is it just as dangerous if you incorporate both the bedside and and a strap from the bed? Wasn't sure if that took some of the stress of the side or if it didn't even matter.
Not really planning on trying it, just more an information curiousity

Bed lights, ratcheting cargo bars, e-z reach grabbers, many, many tie down rings under each bolt in the rails... but MOST importantly - I figured out how to contain all of my little "stuff". I need to carry and access hand tools, electrical supply parts (solder, wire, crimp connectors), and project parts. I mostly keep the cover closed on my G4 Elite tonneau. I found Flambeau Zerust Dry Boxes and use them for this type thing. I slotted a couple of the most frequently ised boxes and secured them to the D-rings with a carabiner.

If I need to use the tools away from the truck, the lids snap right back on. They are water resistant (O-Ring around the lid) and have a small storage area on the lid as well as a lift out tray.
Along the front of the bed, beneath the first section of the G4 cover, I put the other boxes with more stuff.

They fit great between my Jump/Compressor box and my Draw Bar. The large boxes were $10 on sale at TSC and the small ones were $6 at Essex/Bargain Hunt.

Yeah pretty much a bolt from the bed rail. It seems to work alright. When I go to the dunes I leave my spare at camp though and when I go rock crawling I usually through a strap over top of it to the bed tie downs. My bedside hasn't ripped yet, but I've only been running this for about a year. Plus if I do rip my bedside I'm not too worried since I'll eventually get some fiberglass bedsides.

If I get real worried about it though, I'll lay the tire flat in the bed and strap it down.

I was trying to build around my toolbox and building towers was easier than a tube structure in this instance.

I have read about people rubbing sugar on cell phones to remove carrier logos. I don't know if it would work for this. It might just haze the window visor.

They are the same specs as the ones a use for my steel wheels. I bought mine from Costco for $1 a piece.
My 4x4 needs 6 per wheel...

Put my replacement WT floor mats in. After four years I wore a hole through the driver's side from working the clutch. Since I was a year out of warranty I didn't get a free set but they did give me a great discount and free shipping. for WT

I had ordered a heavy duty shackle hanger and shackle for the front. It came today and I put it on.
