    Got mine installed. It was -25C and my roof was covered in ice that I had to chip away to get the weather stripping off, but it's on there. Sometime before spring I'll punch holes in the weather stripping and reinstall the rack with something to seal it up, but I'm really not worried about it leaking for a few more months as everything is frozen solid.

    I also mounted my 50" curved light bar to it. I used the MCM Fab mounts that are supposed to use the roof rack holes and mounted it to a couple cross bars. It sits too high. I hate it. Might be shopping for a 40" straight bar to copy some of the other ones I've seen on here.

    I really want one of your racks. I currently have the first generation baja rack that mounted to the OEM cross bars. I did this years ago when options were limited and the only reason I got the OEM bars was to mount the basket. Of course now they make a basket that bolts directly to the roof. I push the limit of the cross bars on every desert trip carrying two double wide Tent-cots up top. I want to sell my basket and bars and replace them with your rack.

    Do most of you guys that have installed the PrInSu Design Studio Roof Rack leave the rubber strips in place? I removed them to install the OEM bars and never thought of saving them. Does it look and function just fine without the rubber strips in place under the rack?

    People have done a number of things but in my case. I lost one of the strips a long time ago and the other got mangled when I had it off to fiddle with the rack one time. So I haven't had them on for a long time. Yes if you look close and know what you are looking for you can tell they aren't there. Function isn't hindered. Most people don't even realize they are missing.

    Hi there, newby here, love your rack. I use to have a 2011 whit oem rack and thule bars for my autohome tent, it did the trick but was "wobbly" when windy.Just got a 2015 and did not take the oem rack this time, im thinking about getting one of yours, does the inner rail are flush whit the side rail ? or cant it be mount flush? My only purpose of the rack is for the tent.

    Here my past set up

    it's not that bad...i'm trying to pull together my installation which will have plenty of pics going through the process...

    RTV around the plusnut, thread compound on the bolts and black silicone around the molding and spacers...should be covered against leakage :pray:

    The crossbars sit slightly lower than the side rails just to give a good load bearing surface. I can certainly make one that would be completely flush but I think your tent should be fine. The height difference is minimal and since the tent is slightly curved on the bottom it should work nicely.

    Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
    Installed the 2 Plano Cases on the Prinsu. I doubt I will leave them up there 24/7. Only takes 15 minutes to install both now that the holes are all drilled and tnuts are in the right spots. I feel so Expo...Khaki Shirts and Tevas for me from here on out!

    Ohhh yes...in VA you fail inspections and can get a ticket. So I bought the covers from Morgan over at Sidetracked Offroad when I bought the light bar. I like to stay legal...which is pretty easy as my truck is legal minus the blocked 3rd brake light as it sits now.
    Maybe...I don't have any to check for you but I imagine the would. I also have my boxes in a little from the edge which would give you 3" more room in the center.
    Nope but it's a 42" Plano Gun Guard case and the specs are on Amazon where I bought them from.

    it looks like there should be...

    maxtrax = 13" wide
    2 gun cases = 32" wide/16" a piece
    total = 45"

    Rack = 47"

    2" of play room.

    Let me see if there is 13" of room between them with the way I have it now and I should be able to answer this question now that I have that measurement.

    Just measured it up...

    With my boxes set at 1.5" from the edge I have 16" between the boxes at the tightest part.

    So a 13" Maxtrac should fit easily.

    That being said, even while standing on my slider I had a hard time getting the measurement because it is so high. I am 6' tall for reference. If you want them as a just in case it would be fine but if you use yours often it would be a PITA IMHO.

    Awesome. Thanks for checking that out. I don't have the maxtrax yet but I'm hoping to get in on the spring group buy when that starts up... now I know where they'll go :) I don't imagine I'll use them very often, so not a big deal if they're a pita to get down.
