Last car rolled into the hole at the bottom. Gas cap came off and poured out a bunch of fuel, so they are burning the spill off currently.

I'm with you on that. Had to work from 10:30 to 12am. up at on another 3 hour meeting....

 

Trying to decide if upgrading to a 4790K from a 2600K is worth it.

 

Do you OC?

 

Yeah. My 2600k doesn't want to go past 4.3GHz.

 

That's really about the only factor I can see with upgrading. Benchmark wise its better but not really worth all that much, until you OC it since the 4790k has been pushed up to 6.0ghz if you want to get stooopid with it. You should be able to get 5+ghz OC'd on it all day long as long as you are on a good liquid cool.

 

I used to have my 2600k at 4.5GHz, but when I installed new RAM, I had to drop to 4.3GHz to be stable. Not sure why, but the new RAM seems to work the CPU harder. I've never bothered with water cooling. Right now I have the CM Hyper 212 Evo. I'd probably go with a Noctua nh-d15 for the 4790k.

Doing some math, running the 4790k at 4.4GHz would be about the same as running my 2600k @ 5GHz.

 

I have nitrogen and would fill for free but its a drive. What do you mean checked out?

 

Yes unless you get on liquid cooling you can't push that CPU at all and I wouldn't upgrade it if you are going to keep it on air cooling.

Do a mineral oil tank! I've built a few of them and they are so awesome. Basically fish tank PC's. Like this.
