Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Haha I am not an ABS lover.. And I frequently drive old school yota's in the snow with no traction anything. But the system does have benefits too and they are geared toward the majority.

Like everything else, ABS was made mandatory because it helps the majority of drivers be safer.. That by no means makes it perfect or better in every situation!

High speed VSC has saved a lot of lives I am sure. Even if I personally don't care for it I respect that it is good for other people and it has a place.

I just dont see why those who doen't need or want one has to pay for one at car buying time. Between ABS and Traction thats $2000 in parts and labor that could be saved.
If its so good make it optional.

That would be awesome if I could save the money and not pay for a system that I don't have to maintain and disable to 4wheel etc.

As most vehicles are built elsewhere , no , you can't purchase a new , non ABS vehicle but I do think it gives you a pretty good case for disabling the ABS via a selectable switch

If ABS was so awesome in winter conditions , you would think Transport Canada would be all over it

Maybe the average driver is better in Canadia and they don't feel like they HAVE to force things on everyone? :)

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
or Highway 407 toll road in Ontario, Canada. It took the Government YEARS AND YEARS to complete for extraordinary $. They finished the highway, opened it then sold it to some European country. All maintained by the Canucks for everything including Policing then all the profits go overseas. Man, talk about thieves. I'd love to follow the $ on that one.

I dotn know, ABS and Traction control is probably better deal.
If 1 mln new cars are sold per year in US. Than 2000 x 1 000 000 = $2 bln per year sucked out of US economy. Just for a system that many don't need. I won't even dare to think about constant repairing cars with existing system. Just the speed sensors are couple hundred a pop.

VSC has been mandatory in on light vehicles in Canada since 2011. VSC systems include ABS.

I could see all the dumb people out there that probably need ABS choosing a sunroof, or seat heaters instead of a safety feature they probably need

Than maybe better Driver testing is required. Not everybody should have driver license.

There is nothing wrong with ABS or VSC for that matter in dry conditions , in fact I would argue that they are effective and beneficial in those conditions

You mean the same people buying Yukon Denali's because gas prices dropped for a bit..

Or the people driving f350 dually trucks with 2 foot lifts, achieved by stacking lift and mud tires as a DD

who also choose a Dodge 2500 HD so they can role coal and claim "I can pull 36000 lbs" but have a jet ski trailer for 2 jet ski's with one jet ski on it.

:) stupid people ruin it for all of us!

    Yes, it is.

For light vehicles, ABS became mandatory in Canada in 2006, and VSC became mandatory in 2011.
