My guess is about 30-35LBS for the 10 pound bottle.

They need to be re certified every 5 years (IIRC). Otherwise, if you take care of them, they'll last a long time.

Also curious how much heat can they take? Would it be ok to mount in cab with the summer heat/would it be fine sitting in the summer sun no air flow?

Runs around $30, and any welding supply shop would be able to either test, or refer you to a place for hydro-testing.

It's NOT ok to mount inside the cab with the windows up, during the summer if it's very hot outside +100F. The tank has a safety valve that would pop and expel the contents of the tank if pressure got to high, this however is NOT something you want to have happen. If that valve popped in an enclosed space that you happen to be occupying you could suffocate!

Now having said that, of all compressed gas cylinders Co2 is the safest to carry around. It's stored at much lower pressure and has a much higher safety margin with heat. You just have to use a little common sense if you live in a very hot area of the country. I live in one of the hottest parts of the country, and leave my bottle in my Jeep year round, I also don't run a full top! Ventilation is the key!

Just to add here, if the tank is over filled, it can blow the safety valve/disk. Its not a big deal, as the place filling it can replace it quickly, but something to note. Make sure the place filling the tank isn't staffed by idiots, and if its over filled don't think its a "bonus".

    Pics!
A little bummed I found a chipped piece in the powdercoat right on the edge of the tank bottom. Not sure if that was just accidental/missed or probably done by UPS. The delivery guy sort of just dropped the box on its side at my door while he was busy yapping to his buddy on his damn Bluetooth headset.

Anyways! No problem! Going to get a tank boot anyways so it will be covered up.

Uhg, that chip! I try to pad and pack them very tightly in the box to prevent anything like that! I can assure it would not have left here like that! Check your PM's....
