AZ hunting

My card was hit , it's either archery javy or rifle bear.

Javy would be 24a
Bear -33.

I've only seen medium to big game in this thread but how has everyone been doing this bird season if any of you hunt bird?

 

Went quail hunting a couple times and did ok west of PHX. Did great on early season dove in September... haven't went for dove late season yet, but I see good numbers.

Also bagged a bunch of squirrel back in October.

EDIT: Somehow I missed the deadline for spring hunts, fuckit... might look for some close by javi leftovers

 

Not sure if anyone else had success during the rifle deer season.
I whacked this buck @ 200 yards with the ol' 6.5 creedmore on the 5th day of the hunt. With weather coming the following day, I wanted to fill the freezer and you can't eat antlers.


The highlight of our hunt was getting my buddy's 10 year old nephew on his first big game animal. He whacked this buck at an impressive 504 yards. Priceless.

Is anyone going to the AZ Elk Society banquet on the 21st?

 

Unfortunately I have drill that weekend, so I will not be attending.

 

If anyone doesn't use antlers and plans on tossing them or wants to sell them for cheap let me know and I'll come get them. My wife and I are starting to work with a pitbull rescue and they could use the chew toys!

 

Will keep this in mind when I am out and about and stumble across some sheds. My buddy has a Rottweiler that LOVES to chew on them.

Im making the move from Rhode Island to the Tuscon Area sometime in the next month or so. Looking forward to hopefully getting drawn and doing some AZ hunting.

Thanks, once I get my residency all squared away, I am going to enter the draw for a few species.

Would love to draw for a bull, but I know those arent easy to get. I might be taking a road trip to CO for an OTC hunt with a buddy. He went last year and did pretty well.

Yes start getting your bonus pts for elk. It's a great hunt. Easier draw if u bowhunt.
Yes there are ducks in southern Az. Also turkey, quail and dove.
