A few shops in the area said they dont suggest gear size to tire size so they dont have to assume responsibility! All they can do is tell you rpm.. I dont recall my stock rpm. I thought the same thing!: 4:10 on 33" , 4:56 on 35" & 4:88 on 37" but im not sure

According to this calculator, 4.56's are damn close to stock on 35's. 70mph is 2184rpm stock vs 2206rpm.

    4.56's and 37's would be 2087 rpm at 70mph. 4.88's would be 2234 rpm.

By my count, 4.56's are closest to stock with 35's, and 4.88's would be closest to stock with 37's....

    First option choose: Toyota A750F

Step 2: Toyota Tacoma and FJ

    Step 3: None

Step 4: Gear ratio... stock is 3.73 right?

Step 5: Metric tire size stock is 265/70/16

It auto calculates as you enter the information.

For the right portion do the same exact stuff, but choose 4.56 gear ratio for Step 4, and 37" tires for step 5. You want to basically scroll down to the 4th chart that is road speed

ASSUMING 3.73 is stock gear ratio, still have not been confirmed... 37" tires with 4.56 are 2087 RPM at 70 MPH and stock is 2064... with 4.56 and 35s it's 2206....

Exactly what I did, except I used 265/65/17 for stock tire size. changing to 265/70/16 made a difference of 4rpm, so no difference in my conclusion.

Yeah, 3.73 is right. No idea how you're getting to 2064 rpm. I get 2184 or 2180 depending on 265/65/17 or 265/70/16.

Found the problem. Calculator is broke.

I put exactly the same stock info into both the left and right side of the calculator, the left gave my number and the right side is your number. I even used the "copy form" button on all of the options.

Hit refresh a few times, tried again, it worked to your number on both sides. Refreshed and tried again and it was back to being broken. IDK

Well, my buddy ran 37s and 40s on the 4.56 and he liked the 4.56 and 37s... But, he's said he kinda wished he did 4.88s possibly. Only reason he stuck with 4.56 with 40s is because he got a good deal haha.

Yeah I would think you'd want to be a little higher reving to compensate for the heavier tires. I see why 4.88s would be a good choice for 37s. 4.56 on 40s? On a taco?
