We use it at school with Dual shield flux core (and will be using it with MIG) and we don't have any issues with porosity.

The brand is yellowjacketdesigns. It can with a 1/2, 3/4, 1, and 1-1/2" dies. I'm trying to find pricing on a 1-3/4 and 2" die. The companies website is under construction and the only place I found to buy the bender is on eBay.

Ouch. Spendy dies. Puts the dies in the Baileigh price range, bender itself is a bit cheaper though. $1000 for a 1.75 tube die.
I've used it in the past, I did find some porosity issues. I prefer using the anti spatter spray in cans like this:

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I know how that is i have about 6000 in dies for my bender they are no joke and i dont have that meny . Hell my .500" cost over $500.00 And the 10% over dealer cost the Baileigh dies are pricey but the bender is worth it hands down if your doing production work.

For that kind of money I'll take a shot at making a set of dies myself. I'll contact the manufacturer and see if the listed price is true. If so I'll get busy on the lathe. Figure I'll start with a 1.75" die.

That is the same style flow block for my dies and they are great. No galling of the tube and once you get them set they last a long time. Not sure what the metal is on the front edge mine is bronze so we have to bend dry for a few bends to work it into the shape we want then grease it up after that.

The front edge metal looks to be steel, who knows what grade though. Most of the tools at the shop end up abused by the tards that don't know what they're doing and don't have the sense to ask for help. I hope I can keep this one in good working order.

What model bender do you run Jerry?

So for some reason i just can not get 6010 vertical beads down(on a flat plate) I worked on them for like 3 or 4 days and did not really get any were.

so teacher just moved me to T plates last night. I’m getting these down good in 2 days of doing them. I’m pretty happy with them and teacher said he was impressed considering how i was doing on the vertical plate.

pic is tonight, 1st weld of the night. Flat T plates running 6010 moving left to right, start i was moving a little fast and same kinda in the middle.

Just take your time you'll get the hang of it. T joints are my favorite to lay, other then weldin pipe. Go slow keep your eye on your puddle and get comfortable, thats when you will get your best results. The puddle is your number one priority.
