I'll be leaving early friday, so we can caravan up and meet hawksden on the way up.

 

I'm leaving on Saturday I have to work Friday

 

I will also be leaving early Friday.

Welcome, and be careful on that LONG drive you have to Citrus.

I'm kinda actually, but it's probably for the best; if I lived that close, I'd probably spend more time there and break my truck a lot more.

I'm leaving Palm bay(which is on the way up from Ft. Lauderdale) pretty early and meeting with The End in lakeland and heading up to citrus if you wanna caravan up thats an option too.

Question for all who have been out to citrus. I have my wheels on order and they should be here this week. Which in turn I ran out of funds so my stock Dunlaps are going on them for now. The question is, am I better off riding the new wheels out there with stock tires or finding some used all terrain 265/70/17 tires for my stock wheels and riding those out there. I think they might still be a little better on traction compared to the stock tire and a little bigger as well even though they won't be full tread. And I don't want to ruin my new wheels..... any thoughts?

 

i wouldn't worry about ruining your new wheels, not much out there to damage them, unless you choose to get crazy, as far as picking up used all terrains, I don't see it being worth the hassle, you'll do fine out there with 2wd and even more so stock 4x4 and if any help is needed there are tons of guys to help

 

I agree. It's mostly sand and hard Georgia-style red clay with the occasional patch of mud (depending on if it's rained recently) at Citrus. No rocks or anything like that to speak of to scrape up your wheels. Even if you get crazy going though washouts and climbing stuff, your rocker panels would be more at risk than your wheels with stock tires.




You can't really see it all that well from the angle, but my sliders were pretty close to the ground in the picture.

You'll be fine, only time damage comes into play is on the graveyard side. Stay out of there and it's pretty much smooth ridin.

Either it's changed since the last time you went there, or you're talking about somewhere off the legal trail because Guy, Adam, and I went through there (Trl 11b to Trl 24 out to Brittle Rd) last June (stayed on the legal trail) and I went though with only 2WD (both my front CVs were busted) with an open diff with no problems. It was a little tight in some places, but it wasn't as bad as I've heard it is.

 

True story... Graveyard trail, it was very offcamber. But it could be run with a stock truck, free pinstriping.
If there is a harder trail sign me up, I would love to run it!
