The new Tundra's are nice, but they definitely have some drawbacks when compared to the competition. I don't believe the Tundra is the best full sized available given the current offerings. Plus, when I bought my Ford, I was sort of in the same mindset as the OP. I wasn't unhappy with Toyota, but they didn't do much to impress me either.

Buy it from Modern? The salesman who helped up was wearing a bracelet for the son is lost in Enduring Freedom, in the sandbox...

And we actually like the hill feature, saves clutch wear.

No, Mike Brown in Spruce Pine. Not too big of a fan of Modern really. I don't know what to say to that at all. Do you remember the name of the salesman?
Maybe I'll get used to it, but it's a pain in the ass IMO. I need to get to work on disabling it.

either a WRX 06-07 style or a new tundra. I sold my tundra for the Tacoma and it has been nothing but issues. my steering wheel shake to no end and Toyota tells me its supposed to do that and they cant find anything wrong with it.... the loss of power and same fuel mileage I should have kept my old tundra.

We are just north of Spruce Pine where NC226 becomes TN 107. We went to Boone because they had in stock the WRX we wanted.

We tried to get hers ordered through Modern, but they didn't want to work with us, so Mike Brown got the sale.

I was holding out for a GMC Canyon but a totaled F150 meant a needed a new truck NOW. I'd probably go for a Subaru Outback if I had to pick something other than a Taco.

I have to agree with all the WRX suggestions. I don't really use my bed until the summer so downsizing wouldn't be much of an issue for me.

I wouldn't want a WRX. Too small for me.

But, I've had many Outbacks, and these are great: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2005-subaru-outback-25xt-limited-road-test

Makes more power and torque than the WRXs of the same years. They'll easily break 300 HP with minimal expense and they're more capable due to the added ride height and more interior room. Plus you get an enormous sunroof.

Tough part is finding one that didn't grenade a turbo and take the engine with it--or one that isn't close to doing so. Too many people bought them for more power and didn't maintain them the way they should have.

Only thing you give up is handling, but even then you can make those handle amazingly well for what they are.

I feel like if I bought a different brand truck, especially one of the big 3, it would be like when I switched from an iPhone to a galaxy. It was neat for the 1st 20 minutes, then it's flaws and retarded ways started to jump out at me and I've regretted it ever since.

F-150 for sure. I ordered my 2015 King Ranch last month...now just waiting for it to be built. I looked at all the full-size offerings, and honestly the Tundra is just not competitive with the domestics anymore.

Mid-size, if Tacoma isn't an option, I would go Frontier. Very comparable to a Tacoma, but not quite as refined.

Never been impressed with the Galaxy. The interface seems clunky to me in comparison to other Android devices.

I had a LG G2 for a year and liked it enough to get the G3. Never looked back.

    Perfect analogy!!

I felt the same exact way when I went from my iPhone to the S3. Went back after 10 days.

In the summer, I can get between 18 - 20 MPG on my commute, which is a mix of backroads, some highway and some city traffic. Now, in the winter, I'm still running between 17 and 18 MPG. The truck is a 2013 F150 Supercrew 4x4 5.0L, no performance mods.

It's very clunky and very problematic.

    Hmmmm. '15 Outback-256hp and a pig. '15 WRX- 268hp. I'd love to see a stock outback pull a 4.8 second 0-60.
