If you weren't going to buy a Tacoma

'55 Ford PU, Honda Ridgeline, CJ7 V8 and a trailer.

If the wife had input, the Ridgeline would be in front because she loved the one we had.

The Nissan trucks don't use the constant velocity transmission, right? I know that's been a thorn in their side with the vehicles that have them. My dad had a Nissan rogue which went through 2 transmissions. The 1st tranny Nissan replaced but the 2nd went out right after warranty. He ended up just donating it to the school he works for because he didn't want to pay for a tranny just to have it go bad again.

 

Same with me. Or a Tundra. None of the big 3's offerings interest me.

I understand the frustration with the clutch but its a 2010 why not just switch to an automatic?
I would probably go with a Nissan in an automatic so I never had to worry about this issue again.

used to love driving the Mighty Max in the 90's, small weak POS was so fun with no power steering

 

When I totalled my 2005 Tacoma I had another chance for any vehicle, I choose a 2011 Tacoma when I got rid of my 2011 (long story) I again had another chance I choose a 2013 Tacoma. I like the simplicity and reliability of the Tacoma so I wouldnt have it any other way.
If I had to choose it would be a F150 though.

if it had to be brand new, a full size chevy V8 or Tundra.

Tacomas are so damn big that stepping up to the fullsize is only pros and no cons.

 

for less money you can get an STI. LOL

 

Jeep Rubicon

 

Solid choice! and cheaper than a Tacoma with waaaay more power.

 

Tough to beat the Jeep's off the lot off-road capability. Having a few of each at this point, this purchase was a toss up. Having the bed, Toyota won as I didn't want to commit to pull an expedition trailer.

 

one thing I do miss about my old Wrangler was the turning radius.. I could park that thing anywhere.

 

plus tons of aftermarket for jeeps

 

I love the Amarok, see them just about everyday and wish I could bring one back to the states with me

 

Too bad the FJ40, with a chevy small block, new, from the factory wasn't available. I, however, am thinking of a 1 ton, single rear wheel, 4x4 Ram, with the factory snow plow package.
