    Been reading lots of posts and I'm undecided on 885 or 887 springs to get close to 3". Not many places show the 887 available in the Tacoma kit and I haven't found anyone's personal testimony that they're the way to go. Plan on LR arms and Dakar springs, probably from Headstrong if I don't find something more local.

    No bumper planned in the immediate future and if I do it'll be one of the hidden variety with winch mount or receiver hitch, I may build one myself so I can justify my garage full of tools. Sliders and and skid armor will happen soon as I figure out how I want to build them.

    Or, would it be better to go ahead with 886/90021? Don't want a ride that's much if any worse than the stock DCLB Sport 4x4 is now until I get around to adding weight, but don't really want to buy again either.

    Truck will be my daily, occasional wheeling but I'd like for it to be capable when I do.

    Headstrong recommended 887s for 2.75-3", they can't assemble the struts with 1/2" top plate spacers at the moment. 887 sounds like what I want anyway, fingers crossed aaand jump!

    IMHO , I think the 885/top plate spacer set up has less chance of " Over Speed Bump Goes Clank "

    Haven't heard of this, can you tell me more?

    Turns out 887s aren't immediately available either. Seems they are a popular option now for getting closer to 3" and there's difficulties getting them.

    I have 886. Ran them for a year before I added weight. Much harsher that stock dclb sport. Bumps were terrible. Added a cbi front bumper and winch about Christmas time and it's starting to settle nicely. Still stiffer than stock.

    Just in the process of putting 887s paired with OME n140s on my DCSB. Got 887s on Amazon for $157 shipped from East Coast Jeeps. I'll let you know how it turns out.

    Some people have complained about the OME shocks topping out when dropping down an abrupt elevation change like the back of a tall speed bump or dropping into a deep pothole

    I would pay a little more and get customer backing and support from Headstrongoffroad.com. Sometimes the places on Ebay and Amazon aren't authorized to sell them and then if there is a problem OME will tell you to pound sand. Cheaper doesn't always mean better.

    This pic is a little difficult to see. 2887s, OME N140S with trim packer in front. Wheelers 3 leaf aal + factory 3/1 + OME N182 in the rear. The back looks a little lower than the front, but it has about 300 pounds of wood and tools in the bed.

    Currently waiting on Headstrong to give the the word that the 887s made it off the California docks, didn't want to tie up my money in case I decide to go a different direction.
    Second guessing Dakar springs an considering less expensive AALs. I'd ultimately go with which ever gave the best ride an about 2.5" of lift, unloaded with my tonneau.

    Stacked spacer lift, 22x12 wheels with stretched 33's, tow mirrors, bull nuts.
    I have 887's/Dakars on my truck. Haven't had any issues and I got almost exactly 3" of lift. I have Camburg UCA's with Moog ball joints as well. I'll be putting a bumper and winch on here in a couple months and plan on putting top plate spacer on my 887's instead of switching to 886's.

    Reading and re-reading posts and starting to wonder about stuff (also found Wheelers site):
    LR or Camburg control arms? or keeping it under 2.5" so I don't need the control arms and Dakars.
    Icon or Wheeler progressive AALs vs Dakar ride? I know it's a truck, but it's also my daily.

    Money's in the bank and I need to get stuff ordered before I spend it on something else or change my mind.
    Thanks for the suggestions and helpful tips thus far.

    How do you like the Camburg UCA? I'm torn between either those or the light racing uca. I want something with a ball joint for sure. Did it align ok?

    I like them and honestly the only reason I bought them over the LR was for looks. They also have +2 caster build in. They aligned fine. I do like LR for the price and ability to adjust.
