Hey Iven, I'm going to be working a job in the CIA portion of Pearl Harbor. You think the tritium vile will set off any alarms and shit over there? The last thing I need is for something like that to happen. Lol

 

I doubt it. They say it's so low and weak that it's unable to penetrate your skin or a sheet of paper.
Rolex and other high end watches has tritium and they are probably all over there.

 

I work nights. Like..as in right now. Crap..I'm on the internet on TW, YouTube and Facebook. There goes your hard earned money!

 

there's a tiny, tiny bit of tritium gas in that glass. like, if I sneezed at iven from across the room, more aerisolized snot would be on his shirt than is in that vial, and they emit weak beta radiation that isn't able to penetrate anything

does that mean it's relatively safe to have on your person over time?

 

the beta radiation emitted from the gas isn't enough to leave the phosphor tube- it glows, but doesn't escape the glass.

it's not enough to penetrate a sheet of paper, let alone skin

 

That's good to know. I can dive into a pool filled with tritium vials.

 

Speaking of trits, I had time to have a meeting with Mike Bond today about a few projects I have planned, including ti tritium holders, and grabbed one of his awesome laser engraved titanium money clips when he wasn't looking

The tritium alone is very expensive. Those tiny trits are around $8 each. So around $50 just in glowy stuff alone. I was also thinking about a 4 trit version to save some money. Most fobs I have seen on massdrop and kickstarter were around $50 just for the holder. No trits. I did see a cool blue triangle pendant on ebay tho.
