I would strongly advise against doing that unless you have a stash of purse money hidden somewhere.

Awesome! Wind was blowing up the face or I might have done that too. Did you climb down to the cave? I didn't.

The only difficult part is climbing the cables. Kinda steep. But man, what an amazing view.

Oh yeah, no fucking way would I go up the cables. At the top I would be pissing myself, not over the edge.

It was! It was the perfect, kinda mellow trip. It's awesome that the climbing/adventuring trips I do with that buddy are always really good.

Aw man I need to get out to half dome! I still haven't been up it. I was all set to go up but then the government shut down and we had to go somewhere else...

    stuff
While we're talking about Half Dome I've got two good stories from separate trips. First time I climbed it, I wanted to go stand on the edge. Got to the "diving board" about 20 yards in front of the group. Turned around, waved at em, said "nice hike" and hopped 3ft down to a 10x10 ledge. Momentary panic ensues, they thought I was jumping . It was kinda an asshole move, but it still makes me chuckle

Second time it was the day after a September storm. Cold. 90% of the way up the cables a cloud came outta nowhere and a light snow ensued. We stayed at the top about as long as the Griswolds did the Grand Canyon...

Half Dome is amazing, you should do it if you haven't. I think the permits are (mostly) a good thing. First time up, the crowd was borderline insane... Now there are other hikes just as beautiful without the cable climb. Anyone ever done Clouds Rest? My favorite hike, ever. 1100 ft higher than Half Dome, looking down on it, the valley, and across to Glacier Point and beyond. I miss Yosemite. It's been awhile...

There are a ton of great hikes at Yosemite. 4 Mile, the hike to the top of Yosemite falls. Even just walking to the base of El Cap is pretty damn cool. These days, you can walk to the base of the rock fall from a few years ago by heading out to Mirror Lake.

I haven't explored much near Wawona but that's supposed to be pretty cool too.
